They celebrated because they are the first team to go from losing 100+ games to getting a wild card spot -- ever. Quite a turnaround if you ask me, especially since the front office gave up on them at the trading deadline. not that big of a deal considering the wildcard hasnt been around that long. the 91 Twins going from worst to first was an accomplishment. This is a nice story, but they are still not a legit contender IMO.
