Welcome RB Aaron Jones to Minnesota
#11
Always thought Chandler played a similar game to Aaron Jones coming out. I like Jones, but he has been injury prone the last few years. Showed up for the last month of the season in 23 and looked well rested.

Very good signing.  Jones is still a top 10 RB.  Plenty of YAC.

We have upgraded many pieces in the last 24 hours while dodging a franchise crippling contract.  Keep it going Kwesi, go get DJ READER at DT please and head to the draft with options at 11

Love the signing.  Great opportunity and we grabbed him.  I am sure that we had appeal to him as a way to stick it to the Packers at least twice a year.  Here's hoping that he does just that!

Merry Christmas @JimmyinSD…  Wink

Jones, 29, arrives as an experienced lead back who showed that while he missed six games to injuries last season, he still has game-changing talent.
He returned from a three-game absence due to a November knee injury and finished the year with five straight 100-yard games, including each of Green Bay's two playoff games. He reached a top speed of 19.6 miles per hour, the third-fastest time by a ball carrier in the NFL Divisional playoff round, during a 53-yard run against the 49ers, per NFL Next Gen Stats.
Prior to last season, Jones had four straight years with at least 1,190 yards from scrimmage. He led the NFL with 16 rushing touchdowns in 2019, and made the Pro Bowl in 2020.
Only one active NFL running back, the Browns' Nick Chubb (5.3 yards), averages more yards per carry than Jones' five-yard average that is tied with the Colts' Jonathan Taylor (minimum 750 attempts).

Seeing what Henry got, 2 years 18, would have loved to have seen us go that route instead as he is game changer

The Vikings want a pass catcher at RB and Jones is better at that than Henry.  Also I think last year Henry was starting to look burnt.

Jones is a better fit, the Ravens have been after Henry, tried to trade for him last season…

It’s a fine signing. Nothing more than a “ticket mover”, in my opinion. He’s someone they can point to this offseason and say “See we did something to help the offense”. Its not like he’s a “Super Bowl winning” piece.

If he does great, cool. If he’s washed, it wont really matter. Either way he wont be a Viking in 2025, but he’ll be something to watch this year

Man, go outside and touch grass.  Fucking Debbie downer here.  What's your grand plan armchair QB?  He's an upgrade over Chandler and Mattison.  He's also kicked our ass for the last 5 years.  It's a good smart signing to that could be something more if he plays well.  What's a Super Bowl winning piece for this team to you?  Resigning a 36 year old off an achilles injury to a 4 year contract??

Dude…I said It was a fine signing. It is what it is. A one year deal for a 30 year old RB on a year we’re not really trying to win anything. Like i said, he’ll be something to watch this year.

Again…it’s fine.
