I think the MLB is the most poorly ran sports league out there, but they at least handled the Trevor Bauer situation quite well. I'm bringing that up because look how poorly the NFL is managing Gruden, WFT, and Deshaun. Does Goodell and other executives within the NFL actually care about the law or is it 100% whatever the owners want?
I’d imagine they’re concerned about the law as much as it can
be leveraged against them or cause damage to their bottom line.

I’d guess that if the most profitable option is ignoring it,
they’ll ignore it and if the most profitable option is pretending to care, they’ll
pretend to care, obviously as long as it doesn’t mean they themselves are going
to jail.  If at some point, someone needs
to be sacrificed to maintain the good of the whole, it might come to that, but
the public is bad at remembering things, so you just wait it out for a while
until people forget about it or run out of steam and then slowly restart the
positive press campaign as if nothing bad ever happened.

This whole thing sounds like a whole lot of nothing.

The Dolphins will trade for him, but not until his legal
issues are resolved.  His legal issues
probably won’t be resolved until after the trade deadline.  Once his legal issues are resolved, a bunch
of other teams will re-enter the conversation and we’ll start over?

Watson would be a small blip on Florida’s radar, ‘cause Florida has bigger fish a fryin’, pretty much on a daily basis…  Wink  B)

So. Beach or Carolina would be my guesses. He will be traded and given a 2nd chance somewhere, IF he doesnt end-up in jail for a long time.
Honestly, I don't think he'd get much jail time for those offenses. And he hasn't been charged with anything as of this moment. 22 women have sued him, that's as far as it goes currently. Its just sexual misconduct,, right? Its not sexual assault, rape, etc. as far as I understand it from a legal standpoint. Complaints have been filed. He might even plea out of most of it. But from a PR standpoint for a new team, that's what I'm talking about.
Good points.

^^ Isn't that the MO of most privileged athletes, nowadays?
Nothing to be proud of, but isn't that what Robert Kraft did?

I don't abide illegal drugs.  I don't abide domestic violence.

Young man was horny & inartful?
Yeah, so was I, at 25 yo.

If the current civil allegations are all there is, I'd give 2 firsts.
I love Cousins (the man) really like him as a QB.
I love Watson, the QB.

Doesn't matter.  Carolina will pony up.

Here's the hilarious part: Texans rejected Deshaun Watson offer of three first-round picks and three third-round picks before draft. That ship has sailed. I don't think he's tradeable now unless Houston wants to take significantly less.
