This could have been so much worse. There was a video circulating right after this even occurred from inside (its no longer available) that showed the shooter actually paused several times, almost wanting to be caught. He was in there SO long he could have killed 3 times the amount of people he did.

Kids and I were talking about Columbine about two weeks before Uvalde. I told them that Columbine forced police to re-examine their tactics at school shootings....that they will no longer wait outside for SWAT teams before entering the school.

Texas got the memo, this department had recently trained on these tactics and we well aware of the need to get in and neutralize the threat immediately. I still think this is more than just cowardice.. I cant fathom a situation where you, I, or anybody wouldnt have done everything in our power to get that kid shut down, and for them to impede parents who were trying to stop it on their own, IMO this deserves a criminal investigation of the cops as well as the shooter. Cops that go to far and as a result take an innocent life are prosecuted... why not the ones that dont do a damn thing and 20 lives are lost as a result?

Armed LEO of on of the shot teachers was disarmed and prevented from entering the building..... let that sink in, he was trained, he was armed, and he wasnt allowed to assist his dying wife or risk his own life which may have saved lives. This fucking mess needs a serious shake down and serious prison time for those involved that allowed the killings to continue. so so sickening. while allowing a loved one to intervene would normally not be a good idea... to allow a killer to go unchecked through a school is a worse idea, in this case I dont know how he didnt end up shooting his way into the damn school.
