Harbaugh: Don't count out the Vikings
Reply

Not sure if this has been discussed but there is likely a buyout on Harbaugh's current Michigan contract.  With the Wilf's already paying Rick and Mike not to coach this season maybe they don't want to pay more money to get Harbaugh.

Well, this would definitely make sense. Forgot that Ross is a Michigan alum.

If you like conspiracy theories - Ross has been relentless in wanting to get Harbaugh to Miami and he would have been the choice over Flores 3 years ago if he wanted it.  He is a huge Michigan alum and supporter of the school, donating millions, so he can't make it look like he was the one who took Harbaugh away from Michigan, so he makes a statement of such, just sits back and then let's it leak out that Harbaugh is interested in the the Vikes and now he can come in and sign him and it doesn't look as bad as he can say Harbaugh was going to NFL anyways.  It does seem odd that Miami with a HC position has been spooky quiet on the interview front.

I’d take Miami too. They have like $60+ million in cap space. It’s a killer opportunity for anyone

It's only $1.5 million. Peanuts for guys worth several billions.

So our brand new super intelligent GM & the team got duped on his first days on the job, now that wouldn’t be a good look…  Wink

Or he heard Harbaugh was considering Miami and did his due diligence by using his connection and contacting him to see if there was any way he could sway him this way.  Sounds like he was doing a very thorough job of covering all the bases and looking at every opportunity.
