Pumpf I'm glad you're happy with his little lies.  You dont see the pattern of behavior because you don't want to.

At the end of the day anyone who lashes out at Dems, Hillary and conspiracy theories working against him with the rage and anger he showed is a guarantee to vote your way and that's what you want.  Do you honestly think he will be impartial, fair, non-partisan - all the things a SCOTUS should be?   Nope but that's not what Republicans want.  Congrats.
pumpf cares about abortion. Don't kid yourselves. Again, I'd actually have a lot more respect for pumpf if he'd just come out and say that's more important than Kavanaugh lying, his character, etc. He'll get Roe v Wade overturned and then... I guess that's a good thing for some? God knows I'd love more traffic on the interstate in 16 years...
I doubt you'll have any respect for me... because you probably won't believe me.  Prior to these hearings, I didn't give a flying cowchip about this nominee.  I didn't know anything about his judicial record.  I know what people said, "He's going to do this... or that..." but I put about as much stock in them as I do Trump's tweets (who, by the way, I did NOT vote for).  When I started to care is when I saw what the Dem's were doing.  In fact, I had sworn off the GOP and was going to register as an Independent.  And then the Dem's started going to such extreme measures (even prior to this nomination process).  All that they've done is push me right back into the arms of the GOP... and now- because of the ridiculousness of the Dem's- I would vote for Trump without any reservations whatsoever (and this is coming from a previous "Never Trump" kind of guy.  So, no: for me, this isn't about abortion.  This is about what is right; and what has been done to Kavanaugh isn't right on any level.

By the way, there's one more thing about me that you've missed: I don't want laws being made from the Bench!!!  That's not what the SCOTUS is for!  So even if they should "make" a law that I like and agree with, I'd still oppose the process on principle!  Sadly, that's a principle that the Dem's do not share.  For them, it doesn't matter how they accomplish their goals- as long as they "win".  Like I said: I care about right and wrong- not whether or not "my side" wins.  Roe v. Wade was bad law to begin with- and even (some) liberal lawyers will acknowledge that.  And in order to get that "law" made in the SCOTUS the liberals offered testimony that they KNEW was false.  But they didn't care.  I'm sure you do, though: because honesty is very important quality for you.  Right?

EDIT: By the way, I didn't like what happened to Garrick... and I didn't like the nuclear option being invoked.  But those are both things that the Dem's did first; so- turnabout is fair play.  And the next time a Dem president tries to nominate anything other than a centrist judge (yeah, right), what do you suppose the GOP will do then?  The same thing that the Dem's did to Kavanaugh.  It's all ugly stuff... and I don't like any of it because none of it is "right".  But if "this" is how the game is going to be played by Dem's, why should anyone be surprised (or upset) when the GOP does the same thing?  By the way, this is only the most recent time the Dem's have pulled these kinds of stunts.  First it was Bork... then it was Thomas.  If the GOP did this to a Dem nominee, please refresh my memory, because I can't remember a time (since Reagan) when it happened.

Sadly, I wonder if that is the point of all this.  To keep us galvanized into 2 teams, us vs them.

It is pretty obvious that he did not assault Ford, that this was all made up held to to last minute to tear him apart.
So I am glad he showed some emotion.  The left is advocating harassment and criminal behavior towards opponents, but a man angered by slander and false charges is not allowed to respond?  That is hypocrisy.
It is obvious? I missed that part. Seems pretty credible to me.

I was too busy watching him weasel out of his nicknames and slogans in his yearbook like a dork. Then I was too busy listening to the testimony of so many of his classmates, roommates, etc. coming forward and said the person he's portraying from high school and college is completely fabricated, that he was actually a massive drunk with a temper, who started a bar fight where one of his friends got arrested.

C'mon, man. This is what makes me lose faith in "your" side. These are facts, literal statements from people showing ALL of this. Does this not matter to you guys? You CAN just say, "Eh. I'm a conservative, and I like his values, so I'm willing to overlook that stuff." I swear to you up and down, I'd disagree but I'd at least respect your honesty. But to ignore that stuff and say it's "obvious" he didn't assault Ford... that's just hard to understand. You're kidding yourself or your news source (Fox) is so completely narrow that you're not getting all the facts.
I don't know how many classmates have been testifying against him... or how credible they are.  But I do know that a large number of people from his past have given testimony in his favor?  So let's just say there's 50 on each side.  Why is it that you CHOOSE to believe that one set of witnesses are credible... and the other is not?

In re: to the two purple bolded above:
 1) In Nebraska... does it make much difference what party you're registered?  I think it's an open primary State (like Ga).  But even more chaotic.  Smile
Nebraska bends over backwards to be non-partisan.
2)  Garrick (I think you are re: Merrick Garland) argument is a joke, that Dem's are thinking his nomination was 'stolen' from Obama.
The GOP simply invoked the 'The Biden Rule'.  They (the Dems) really need to stifle ol' Uncle Joe.  (Great point on the 'nuclear option', tho)

3)  The GOP has NEVER trashed a Dem SCOTUS nominee.... especially on such personal grounds as Kavanaugh.
EVERY DEM SCOTUS nominee has been confirmed.
You're right...first there was Bork.  Led to the Merriam-Webster term, 'being Borked'... or nomination smeared.  Thirdly, what they've done to Kavanaugh.
Secondly, what they did to Savannah's native black son,  Clarence Thomas.... high-tech lynching.  Dems have been here before.  Never imagined it'd be only about 25 yrs later.
If the party of the 'little guy' would do this to a black guy... why are we surprised they'd do it to a privileged white frat-boy?  (rhetorical)

So you would respect Kavanaugh more if he were a complete ass and criminal as a youth as long as he admitted it rather than being an upstanding person and not admitting it?

If Kavanaugh lied under oath, he is unfit for the job.  but I have yet to see anything other than people here speculating they know what his scribblings were referring to.  And you would respect Pumpf if he was a hypocrite?  That lying is okay if it gets the right vote?

guess I don't get your logic.
What universe are you living in where you think that ALL of the stuff swirling around him, people speaking out, sworn testimonies, evidence of his lies in books his friend wrote, letters he wrote, etc.

And you still don't think he IS a complete ass and a criminal as a youth...

You don't get my logic. I think it's that simple. And maybe I don't get yours.

But as to Ford, how is she credible?  Nobody, NOBODY has corroborated her testimony, even her friend. Seems she lied under oath about the polygraph.  Seems her legal team withheld information from her and is now in hot water.  Seems that her claim is completely unsubstantiated and without that, why should anyone believe it?  Because you disagree with Kavanaugh politically?
I'm not sure why I'll bother to post links because it'll just get the FAKE NEWS/LIBERAL LIES treatment but:

And what about the other women coming forward claiming to have had similar experiences with him and his group?

Also: if she's such a joke, why not let the FBI run a real investigation? The whole thing was rigged from the get-go. That I think you can at least agree with, was that it was done just for show because they wanted to speed this up. Shocker! The WH found no evidence of corroboration. What, you think they'd allow the FBI to interview everybody and accidentally find some?

What's interesting to me about all this is that the DNC could have gone after Kavanagh on the issues, including (and especially) the lack of adherence to the 4th amendment and our rights...but they preferred to back a soap opera sponsored by the "#metoo" movement, and the GOP's moronic past with women's issues.
Do you think the DNC would have had any success whatsoever if they just went after him for legitimate issues? That's not how this game is played anymore. I agree, they're all a bunch of shitbags at this point, they've gotta start playing as dirty as the Republicans... which is reprehensible.
As dirty as the Republicans?  When have they ever done anything like this (character assassination) to any of the Dem's SCOTUS nominees?
I'll ignore this one since there's zero point in listing EVERYTHING.

But they stole Obama's nominee. Nobody addresses that because, well, Republicans had had enough of the black guy in 2016, let's be honest.

It is. Glad to hear you care about right vs. wrong. Lovely logic then that because the Democrats are playing dirty, that you'll show them by voting for Donald Putin.

This is just chicken or egg. You say the Dems do it so the Republicans do, I say vice versa. Bottom line is they're all a bunch of childish dickheads. Notice not once have I defended the Democrats in this thread. I've admitted they're playing shitty politics.

I didn't say I didn't believe the women that came forward that said he'd never do something like that. I believe them. But almost everybody from that age group/fraternity/class has come forward to say the image he painted of himself BACK THEN was horseshit.

I bet he has been an upstanding good dude when he grew up. Which is fine! From day one, I said he should just admit to - what I think - is obviously a past littered with excessive drinking (legal and fine, hell I'm a huge fan) and some... "suspect" behavior toward women.

Please note also: I've tried hard throughout this thread to defend guys who've been wrongly accused of something. When you're drunk, you do dumb shit. But the accounts I read from people about how they'd drug drinks and pull trains and doped up girls... pretty shitty. Way above (I'd hope) every guy's paygrade on this board.
