I've even read it here...  let's face it.  He's 6-2 and 200 lbs and runs a 4.45 forty.  He's a top athlete.  This isn't an over-achieving guy with fringe NFL athletic talent.  Go look at his Pro Day numbers and compare them to the other top WRs in the NFL.  Heck, he tested better than Diggs in almost every major category at the combine.  I would bet that if you flipped Thielen's numbers this season with Diggs...  all we would be hearing about is how Diggs is the next superstar WR in the NFL.  Yet, Thielen is a "good story"... a "crafty veteran"... etc.
I've seen the same things said of Brian Robison in his career...  yet, go check out his combine/Pro Day numbers.  He's another ELITE athlete that doesn't get the credit he deserves for that athletic ability.  I don't want to make this a race issue, but the narrative on these guys is different when they are white in a predominately black sport.
You hit the nail on the head Wet. Superior athletes who get labeled with everything from " a try hard guy" to "workout warriors ".
Jordy Nelson is another one. I know we don't want to mention him because, well, you know. But  I'll call it like I see it. Athletic freak!!
For the "white men can't jump "tags.
Who's got the highest vertical on this team?

That would be your boy would it not?  was it 40 1/2 inches?
Yep. He actually had a 44" vert coming out of High School. 43" when he was training for the combine.

ESPN's Sport Science had me thoroughly convinced that Blackmon would be the next Moss
oooo00oops !
Guess they don't have a computer yet that can test brains

Theilen is a great story and like Joe Mauer, an inspiration for student athletes statewide, playing at every level
I'm sentimental when it comes to a "hometown boy done good" story & his is a classic
Now there is one more happy chapter I'd like to see

Thielen is a star player but a humble man. He is legit. 100% pure class and the real deal.
