Flacco signs with the Browns

"Reunion: the Cleveland Browns and veteran quarterback Joe Flacco reached agreement today on a one-year, $4 million deal worth up to $13 million with incentives, his agency
@JLSports3
told ESPN. Flacco now will return to Cleveland, where he won the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award in 2023.
Flacco also spoke with the Steelers and Vikings but opted  to spend his 18th NFL season with the Browns."

I'll be highly interested to see who the Vikings have pegged for QB2 after April 29th. My money is on Ryan Tannehill, who I prefer. Kirko? Prepare for Viking Twitter epic freakout in 3.....2....1.....

This was from December of last year:

From what
@Andrew_Krammer
has “heard behind the scenes” is that it’s “not a shoe in” that Nick Mullens is QB2 and that the #Vikings are really “impressed” with what Brett Rypien has done that “he’s made them think and consider about their [QB] pecking order”.

Krammer noted that Rypien has won 4 Scout Team Player of the Week awards this season.

Kwesi mentioned they liked Rypien a lot in a presser around the time of the combine, so we'll see. Same size as JJ. But without the arm and speed. Supposed to be a very good QB above the shoulders. Started 4 NFL games, threw 4 TDs and 9 INTs. His draft profile mentions that his noodle arm is what caused many of his interceptions in college. It seems we could do better.

Find a guy with a pulse and traits. Dobbs showed up on a Wednesday, gets inserted after 1 series on Sunday, and gets the W.

I don’t really care. Nothing burger. The guys who whine will whine. The guys who think will think.

I still think that Carson Wentz is the best fit for QB2. Has the big arm that KOC likes & is a failed first round pick, the type of player that Kwesi likes to take a chance on.

At this point KOC should just make himself the backup QB

Agreed, he's a year younger than Flacco anyway. Giddy up.

Hey, nobody would know the game plan better and at this point I'd take him over Tannehill. They both threw the same amount of TD's last season

They say Minnesota was in on Flacco. He's comfortable with Cleveland. I don't see how anybody could be better than Kirko for the Vikings. I don't know how they could make it work financially and I doubt he would accept being a backup, much less move his family back to Minnesota. But the possibility is certainly enticing!

Minnesota never made Flacco an offer, that is straight from Doogie. And how could that gigantic round head be wrong? I'm sure Minnesota had some interest but the comp pick thing comes into play here I think.
