McCarthy to get 'red shirt' year

We lost some very close games last year and without Cousins. We were one play from beating the Lions.
We are a better team this season.

Hope so, but Kirk and Hunter (and it sounds like, Hockenson...) are not small losses to the roster. I don't know a ton about the Texans we brought in but I'm excited to see what they and Turner can do for the defense. We badly need at least one of these 3, or someone unexpected, to emerge as an impact player.

One thing that won't get talked about a ton in the offseason also, is I hope the new kid can kick.

Drake Maye should get a redshirt year, but he won't. Shaun King said yesterday on some podcast that Maye is a developmental player and he feels strongly he's not going to pan out. One guy's opinion, but Maye needs time like JJM does but I don't think he's going to get it....some fans think he's plug n play and he's far from that.
