Why did Minnesota resign Rudolph?

I've always like him but he can be frustrating when trying to break tackles.  He actually had a pretty game against the Eagles.  Also, he is pretty important in their blocking scheme.

I think there was a very strong, "keep the band together" attitude this past offseason, and Rudy benefitted. Certainly the uncertainty about the young TEs helped, as others have noted.
Unfortunately, his restructure still has a lot of dead cap for him in 2020 ($5.8M) and even 2021 ($4.3M), so it doesn't seem like they plan to walk away from him.
