Peterson got his wish

watched a lottle of the saints game and saw a few of APs carries.  it is just sad now.  i feel bad for AP although I have been really vocal about letting him go.  But i just hate seeing a once great player just crash and burn in a place that he just does not fit.
i have no ounce of sympathy for him.   remember that is the same guy that tried to back door his way out of here by reaching out to jerry jones while under contract with the Vikes... i am sure he was just looking for a stock tip or charitable donation or some such shit...

seriously though,  I could care less if he ever sees the ball again,  he was coddled here more than any player in team history and rarely if ever showed the team any its fans any loyalty for everything they did for him.

I just have to wonder what was New Orlean"s reason for signing him. Do they really need a guy to take 8 carries a game?

It's the only job offer he was able to get.  From $17-18/mm year down to $1mm plus incentives.

I still think Peterson can be productive in the right situation, but he's not going to be of much use when they are falling behind.

what situation would that be?  as a guy that comes in when the game is decided to run the clock out?  I dont know what type of game plan you could put him in and get optimal results that couldnt be bested by a more well rounded back.

I am guessing his role should be that of a short yardage specialist,  but will he settle for 2-3 yards and a cloud of dust or will he try dancing as he did here and end up losing yards half the time?

He's not even an average back anymore. I think his last really "special" dominant year was probably his 2012 campaign. I know he was league leader in 2015 but even that year I remember watching a few of his runs and he looked out of gas toward the end. And his 2012 season - what I'm told from a friend who works for the team - was most likely the result of steroids. I guess it wasn't much of a secret that he was using for the first 3/4 of the year to recover from his knee injury.
