Ruh Roh?? Report: Vikings to sign No. 3 QB Sloter to active roster
Posted by: purplefaithful - 09-16-2017, 06:01 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (27)

The Minnesota Vikings will reportedly sign practice squad quarterback Kyle Sloter to the active roster.

The move might be a precaution or it could be a sign that starting quarterback Sam Bradford won’t be available to start for the Vikings on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bradford has been limited all week in practice with a knee injury. ESPN reported that the Vikings’ starter had an MRI on the knee this week because of swelling and discomfort.
To open the season, Bradford posted 346 yards and three touchdowns in one of the league’s best Week 1 performances.
If Bradford can’t start, the Vikings will turn to backup Case Keenum.

Vikings have been a great bet since Mike Zimmer took over
Posted by: purplefaithful - 09-16-2017, 05:02 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (3)

In sports betting, there is a rule that says: “Never bet against Bill Belichick.” Do I have to explain why? Three years after taking over the Patriots, Belichick’s squads have a covered the spread 58 percent of the time. That is pretty good numbers. Actually, that is fantastic.
The Vikings are a better bet.
Since coach Mike Zimmer has taken control of the team, the Vikings have covered an astonishing 68 percent of the time, according to For The Win. That includes going 13-5 against the spread at home.

Is a headline I don't want to see. Nyuk nyuk nyuk nyuk.

Made you look!

If this post is not what we want on this board, then why do we let the Bradford Out For Season post remain?

VIkeFans Coverage Plans in Pittsburgh on Sunday
Posted by: Tom Moore - 09-16-2017, 02:18 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (10)

We begin our coverage of up to 7 of the 8 Viking road games as part of the mainstream media on Sunday at Heinz Field.

We will start providing pregame reports here and via Twitter (we recommend that for speed to you - so see us @VikeFans on Twitter) as early as 9:30am central time.

We don't get a lot of feedback from our membership base, but we always offer you a voice on what you'd like to see, hear and be updated on.

We DO get insider info in pregame (directly and through observation on the field), so tell us what you want to know (we will check on Sam's knee).

We also plan to do a 10-15 minute video recap with Pete Bercich from Heinz Field within an hour of the game ending (we spend the first 30 minutes in the locker room to get the player stories first)

So, tell us what you'd like to know and we will try to get the information or content for you.

  View from Pittsburgh

"To win, the Vikings must…
Diggs in. He became the first player in NFL history last year to have 13 catches in back-to-back games.
Mark X(avier) on Brown. The All-Pro receiver was targeted 11 times in Cleveland and caught all 11, a remarkable feat for a player."
