I guess I'm still not sure this Viking team can handle the best of the best in the NFC, and I do believe Seattle is at the top of the list with NO and SF.  This is a big test for the Vikes, and I'd like this matchup a lot better if it were in Minny.  Hoping for the best, but not expecting a happy ending - hope I'm proven wrong!

I know they aint the Legion of Boom anymore, but Russel Wilson is 5-0 vs the Vikings.  He'd be league MVP if it wasn't for the kid out of Baltimore.

I dont trust our D in this one, nor Zimmer coming out of a Bye.

Hope I am totally wrong:

Seattle 27
Vikings 26

What I don't like:

* That this game comes after a bye week. Vikings don't play well against Seattle and they don't play well after a bye.
* Russell Wilson. With all due respect to Mahomes and Jackson, Wilson is probably the most efficient QB in the NFL and our secondary is vulnerable at the corners.
* Seattle is a slightly above average run defense. But without Adam playing, I expect them to load the box, double Diggs and force Cousins to beat them with Bisi and the TEs.

What I like:

* Wilson doesn't always play well against us. Totally different teams, I get that, but here are Wilson's numbers the last time they played: 10-of-20, 72 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT. His passer rating was 37. That game was in Seattle. They won 21 to 7 because Cousins was awful and despite the fact that, going into the 4th quarter, the game was 3-0 Seattle, and the fact that Cook was averaging 4.2 a carry, we we ran the ball only 16 times. This was one of the games that got Flip fired. Our offense is much better this year and their defense is worse.
* Dalvin Cook in the passing game. This is how we win.
* Seattle is a run-first team. Vikings have the 5th best run defense in the NFL. Carson has struggled holding onto the ball.

For me this game is on Zimmer.  If we can play aggressively on offense, we can outscore Seattle.  That may mean going for it on 4th and 4 from the Seattle 40. It may mean a few more shots downfield.  I would be very surprised if a conservative game plan will win tonight.  And if Zim is content to give Seattle the ball with 2 minutes to play and rely on our defense to protect a 2 point lead to win the game, I think we lose.

Shots down the field should be in everyone's playbook this year. The refs are out of control with their DPI. Get to your 40 with a 1st down and it should be max protect and bombs away.

Re Zimmer after a bye - I looked it up last week and he's 3-2 so far with the Vikings, not actually bad. We're all tainted because of losses 2 of the last 3 seasons.
Just being a ray of sunshine for all of you! ;)

This game is a window into the future. If the Vikings are a wild card team, they will be on the road to play a good team. Tonight's game will likely determine whether they will be a wild card team or win the North.
If they lose tonight, they will likely be one and done in the playoffs. Should they win tonight, they have a very good chance to be the NFCN champs. At least that's the way I see it.
If this game is predictable, the Vikings lose. But none of these games, or this years Vikings, are predictable.
My brain says the Hawks win. My heart says the Vikings win.
Vikings 27
Hawks  24.

-  IMO this is when and where Kubiak and Co. can have a major influence.

- As a Defensive specialist can Zimmer improve the secondary and run defense?

Wilson has never lost to a Viking team 5-0 lifetime.

BYE week helps but Vikings come up short 24-23.

R Wilson is usually better than K Cousins.
I don't have ANY faith on the Vikings defense to get off the field on 3rd down (or 4th down)
I've seen the Vikings come out flat too many times in games like this.

I expect the Vikings dig a hole early and not be able to get caught up.

I really hope I'm wrong, Vikings 17, Seahags 31

Well it was a tough evening for us Viking fans, and these two "pickers" expected as much.  Not really an a$$ whooping by any means, but the Vikes got pushed around on defense, and the offense failed to get Cook and the running game going again.
Looks like purplefaithful and Hidalgo are this week's "Pick It" winners.  Good job gents, and hopefully the Vikes get a nice rebound game next Sunday.SKOL!
