What?! Seattle just -2.5 vs Vikings

I dont think Vegas has the Vikings figured out yet.  Much like most of the fans.

I luv my team, but this is easy $$ imo. 

Every game from here on out is Huge...Hope we can take advantage of GB losing, but I'm not counting on it. They'll have to with 2 of the next 5 on the left coast. 

I don't bet, so not quite sure what you're saying. You think Seattle should be favored by more? The way I understand it, home is typically worth 3, so Vegas thinks the Vikings are a slightly (.5) better team. That rings true to me. 

Home hasn't been the advantage for them that it's been in the past. They're also the 29th ranked pass defense in the NFL. I know we don't typically play well there, and Seattle has been playing better of late, but, hey, so have we. And we get Thielen back. This looks to be a shootout. I like our chances in this one.

Seattle is 8-2, but they aren't a great team.  Wilson has been playing like an MVP-candidate this season and is hiding a lot of their flaws.  The only blow out win they have this year is against the Cardinals where they won 27-10.  Here is a look at their home schedule:

Home
W 21-20 (1 pt win over a terrible Cincinnati team)
L 33-27 (lost at home to the Saints)
W 30-29 (close win over a mediocre Rams team)
L 30-16 (Ravens thoroughly beat them)
W 40-34 (won in a shootout over a terrible Buccaneers team)

They lost to the two good teams they played and their 3 wins aren't very impressive.  Then you look at their away schedule and they beat a Mason Rudolph-led Steelers team by 2...  blew out the 3-7-1 Cardinals...  squeaked one out over a bad Browns team by 4...  beat the Falcons by a TD...  and beat the 49ers in an OT thriller by 3...  and beat the Eagles on Sunday 17-9.

Their most impressive victory to date is against the 49ers.  Not trying to take away from that win, but it's a division game against two teams that play each other twice a year... Wilson is probably the perfect QB to matchup against that Niners defense since he is a master of evading a pass rush and making plays.

This will be a tough game for the Vikings, but I wouldn't chalk it up as a for sure loss.  If the Vikings can keep Wilson from doing Russell Wilson things, we can win this game.  Their secondary is exploitable and we should have opportunities to hit Thielen and Diggs downfield.  It will all start up front though...  we need to get Cook going so we can use our play action to get chunk plays.

The conclusion I came to after reading this, is.

IF MN wins they beat a team that really isn't as good as their record indicates
If MN loses, Mn is not as good as their record indicates.

Or did I over think this one?

I guess that's a negative way to look at it...  all I'm saying is that Seattle is a good, but not great team.  You could say that about every one of the top teams in the NFC right now (including the Vikings)...  each of the top contenders has an ugly loss or two and each team certainly has its flaws.  My post was mainly in response to some of the fan perception I'm seeing that says we can't beat Seattle on the road or some are already chalking this up as a loss.

I don't see it that way.  Should be a good game between two good teams.

All it will take is us getting away from play action and screen passes and we will be done.

I agree,  we dont have the skill up front to just line up and impose our will,  but if play calling is creative enough to keep opposing defenses honest... I think we can beat any team in the league.

When has a Zimmer led Vikings team NOT come out of the bye flat as a pancake?

I see a Seattle team with less weapons than ever forcing Wilson to play at an MVP level to win. And a Defense that scares no one. Against the run or the pass. They're as beatable as they've been in ages.

Did the team get a wake-up call after allegedly ignoring Mike and coming into the Broncos game flat? One could argue the coaching in the 1st half was as uninspired as the teams' effort.

On the positive side of thing Zimmer usually dips into his bag of tricks against the Elite QBs, so I expect an actual opponent-specific gameplan on Defense. Double A Gap looks. Smith and Barr around the LOS. Maybe a Mac blitz and some NASCAR looks.

Stefanski and the Line should be able to hold up enough to unlock the running game. Getting Thielen back will help diversify the passing attack. Sneaky Pete has to take into account what Irv & Bisi have been bringing to the table as well.

This feels like an opportunity to beat a good, but certainly not great, team on the road. It's that horrible track record coming out of the bye week that I can't get out of my head, though.

The Vikings have lost every game I've attended in Seattle. 0-6 ? 

I plan on betting on this game but have to wait for the injury reports. Would like to know if Clowney or Thielen are going to be playing. I also expect the odds to change slightly in the next week.

The Vikings with Zimmer as coach have played the Seahawks very close. I think we match up with them pretty well. Vikes will win by 6 points.

MN with Zim, have never scored more than 9 points against the Hawks.
