Early Look: 2020 NFL Mock Draft

24. Minnesota Vikings: OL Calvin Throckmorton (Oregon)

Matthew Emmons/USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota’s offensive line has been a real issue over the last few years. The tackle spots in particular are worrisome. Riley Reiff looks to be over-the-hill, whereas Josh Kline is constantly battling injury issues. Throckmorton is as technically sound an offensive lineman as there is on the collegiate level. His combination of length and lateral quickness has enabled him (at various times) to start at right tackle, left tackle, right guard, and center.  This sort of versatility is rarely found.

That Oregon line is loaded. Their LT will be a top 5 pick in 21. Gotta love the versatility.

We need a couple 1st round picks because we need a LT, a future QB and obviously some CB help.  On top of that Cook has 1 year left and Harrison Smith, Everson Griffen and Linval Joseph are all getting a bit long in the tooth.

I am sorry but any analysis that implies Kline plays tackle should be rejected.
