Ok, Can Anyone Explain This Stat?

I can see it now - they will blitz the hell out of us this game and cause KC trouble. They will go against their tendencies this game.

A good dosage of screen passes to Cook/Mattison will slow that down,  especially to a team that's known for their blitzes.

that has to be the most misleading stat out there.  the Vikings have been listed at the top in that stat for a few years now even though we all saw our QBs getting the shit kicked out of them.  it has to include scramble time and roll out time.  if that stat were genuine it would discount designed roll outs and only count the time before pressure forces a QB off of his drop back or out of the pocket.

The only stat I'm concerned with is the win/loss stat...

I’m not a big fan of this stat by itself.  It doesn’t tell the story of what is
happening by itself, but when used with other things it can help paint a
picture.

There’s a lot of different variables that go into how long a
QB holds the ball before throwing, but I think the biggest factor is QBs that
are running a lot, either on designed plays, mobile QBs or due to pressure knocking
them off their spot.  Part of this is
slow decision making.  If a QB is slow in
making a decision they’re more likely to experience pressure getting to them
and having to escape the pocket.

I think we have an abnormally high number of plays that get
Cousins on the move to help protect our OLine and this increases the amount of
time it takes to throw.  I also wouldn’t
be surprised if Cousins was taking a little while to adjust to our offense, and
maybe was thinking more than doing.

The effects of the coaching changes are showing up. Vikes have played some below average teams that IMO have helped the staff to coach up players and reduce mistakes.

 Unforced penalty errors decline is what I am watching for this weekend.
