Wonder if this will be enough to "piss off" Kirk...
Zach Brown says ex-Redskins teammate Kirk Cousins 'weakest part' of Vikings attack

P.S. I think it's a bullshit "excuse" that a professional making nearly $30 million annually needs external motivation or perceived slights to perform well, but, that's just me.
I'll say this: this should be bulletin board material for the Vikings. And for Cousins. If his teammates don't have his back over this and he can't get fired up to jam it up Brown's ass, then Brown is right.
I'm glad he said this. Let's see how the Vikings respond. Not sure how you can get called out more by an opponent than this. Because the Vikings are going to have to pass in this game to win. We'll find out what kind of mettle the team has. I mean, honestly....hey Kirk....you're getting the $84 million regardless. Why not go balls to the wall and let it rip? Do you have that in you? Zimmer got the Bears fired up with some talk, so use this as some kind of fuel.
Not sure how saying that has any value either. He sure isn't showing he was the smartest guy on the field either.
I'm not a big fan of smack talk, either, except when it's directed at an arrogant, loudmouth fool (i.e. Ray Lewis, Terrell Owens, etc.) AND you can back it up.
The Eagles secondary is terrible, if the Vikings can execute screens and the short passing game, I could see them winning, maybe 27 - 21 or thereabouts. They are at home after all, and it's at noon, not primetime, so they've got that going for them.
But this is the Vikings......literally nothing that they do or don't do shocks me anymore.
Wow...I picked up Cousins this week to cover for a bye next week, but I might just play him this week...I already liked the match up. I like it even more now.
Or this may piss him off and he ends up doing too much B)
FYI: This is coming from someone who does not trust Cousins. For the record I want him to be very good for us.
To close this out, after the game Kirk said he didn't know about the comments until a reporter brought it up to him after the game was over. He didn't read anything and no one mentioned it to him.
ETA - I hope you played him this week @MaroonBells

Wasn't even close. Bitch slapped them. The Vikings are capable.....but will they keep it going? Not sure, but nice win today.

He was the one talking shit. He can dish it out but he can't take it.
Zach Brown can eat a bag of dicks!
You know if the Eagles had won, he’d be talking shit.

Yep. Love the questions. And when he asks if there are questions about anything other than cousins, I hope they said, nope.
Yeah, I kinda hope Kirk did hear about it, and is determined to play that way going forward because he's tired of hearing so much of it....
I wish they would have scored 50 on that green team.

I love it. Maybe he won't be so quick to open his big mouth next time... if you talk shit, you better back it up. And if you don't, at least be man enough to sit there and take the media rubbing your nose in it.
The adversity has been missing; Kirk grabbed the bull by the horns and took charge - BUT, I think I still would like to see him win the challenging types of games. Its really hard to consistently play at a level where you don't have to face adversity. We know Kirk can spin it for 400 yards. The first couple of games, Kirk had a lot of "oh shit" moments that seemed to dig him deeper. The past couple games, Kirk has found a rhythm avoiding those "oh shit" moments.
... they will come back. He's gotta maintain this demeanor and swagger all of the time.

Some of that is on the play calling IMO. Week 1 he wasn't needed. Week 2, we still depended on the run and cousins had one chance to make a big difference and tried to be the hero. I think that affected him the next couple of weeks, but yes, he recently has seemed more intense and it is working. Late in the game we took a timeout to avoid a delay of game I think, and Kirk was pissed. Don't know what transpired, perhaps he saw a matchup he liked. But we were milking the clock and the play clock was winding down when the sidelines called a TO. KC was pissed!
He got better protection. The oline with a new scheme and new players is a work in progress, hopefully one that keeps improving as the year goes on. It appears they took the handcuffs off and said be your aggressive self, warts and all. Standing back there like a statue trying to figure out if a guy is open is not Kirk's game, or anyone's really. They paid him to help be successful and for that to happen he has to be himself.

Yes, Kirk has been more focused and intense since the Bears debacle. Yes, Stefanski took the training wheels off the passing game (or was given permission to by Zimmer).
But you still need time to throw and it wasn't like all his success was coming on rollouts. The O-Line had the most consistently clean pocket I've seen the whole year to date. Not as much as I'd like, but still noticeably better. And that's with Hill playing most of the game and Kline out.
If this Line can get to consistently average or better in Pass Pro this team is legit. If not, Kirk isn't mobile enough nor does he move well enough in the pocket ala Brees to overcome it.
The next big step for me is can Stefanski unveil a dink-n-dunk package against opponents with a great pass rush if his Line is struggling. Opposing teams do it to Zimmer all the time.
