...what matters to me now is how they play against Chicago upcoming. The Vikings can beat up bad teams at home, we see that. Whether they become a playoff team or not truly remains to be seen. The NFCN looks lively, with Detroit winning and we'll see how the Bears perform tonight. Certainly is intrigue as the season unfolds.

Glad to be 2-1.

No doubt. Now they need to beat winning teams and win on the road.

Cousins needs to step up to be taken seriously.  Watching TB yesterday move around in the pocket and being careful under pressure really made me miss him.  KC under pressure usually leads to fumbles and/or picks.

I think KC will be coached up this week to be extra careful with the ball.  He can't have turnovers and expect the team to win against a tough Chicago home team/crowd.

Personally, I've lost faith in KC.  Hope he proves me wrong next weekend.

I understand what your saying.  Yesterday Cousin was under some pressure; instead of forcing a throw, he tucked the ball and ran for positive yards.  He actually gained 16 yards on 3 carries.  Although, he lost 4 yards when Bradbury stepped on Cousins, tripping him.  But that was on the first play of the game.  Maybe there is some hope for him going forwards.

This is no different than before. He shows all the potential we look for against bad teams and wilts against good teams. He is inconsistent.
Yesterday gives me hope, but history tells me otherwise.
This team is pretty good, so Cousins needs to flip the script and start beating some good teams. If he can stay calm and play within himself, as Zimmer says, it is possible.

I think it's interesting that we don't actually know much about any team yet; it's early in the year. Who teams truly are heading down the final 4 games is completely different from the first 4... at the same time, the standings and schedule in the NFC North are no joke right now. We're 3rd in the North behind a couple of undefeated teams and the division is on a pace that seemingly won't afford us a road loss to the (current) worst team in the North...

you are only as good or as bad as your last game... KC was dog shit after GBay,  yesterday he redeemed himself nicely.  lets see what Chicago make him look like,  unfortunately I dont think our OL will do well against the bears front 7 and KC will suffer as a result of it.  IMO our only chance will be to catch their D off guard with a completely new game plan with adjustments pre installed so we can stay on top of them.  Fast start and make Trubisky beat us with his arm is IMO our only chance.

It's a small thing... but one of my favorite parts of that game, absolute favorite, was after Cousins threw that TD pass to Thielen. He didn't run down to the endzone to celebrate a 7 point lead; he turned towards the sideline and marched off the field pissed off. We can see it when he's melting down in bad games - I liked seeing him coming up from last week's downs and not being satisfied.

As soon as I saw it I had this instant wave of surprising confidence that Kirk was hungry...

Our OL against their front 7 @ Soldier Field concerns me the most...I'm not sure we can handle their DTs with our interior OL.

Hopefully the D comes prepared too.

.500 on the road, win your home games get you to 12. I dont ever look @ GB or @ Chi as wins when prognosticating the season.

Yeah I think Zim mentioned something about that as well.  Good to see him get easy positive yardage.

If we can run the damn ball, we have a good chance.  I think we can, hopefully Stef and Kubiak have a good plan against the aggressive front 7. our D can make Trubisky look bad if our offense gives them a chance.

I would say the two early season games against the Packers and Rams and then the two late season games against the Bears, both of which were losses (one in fact a must win at home) were the 4 games that sort of drove what we did in the offseason. The changes on defense and the addition of Kubiak and running the football.

So, yeah, this game in Chicago will have a lot to say about what we can expect from the Vikings this season.

Can the Vikings’ offensive formula work in tough road games? The Vikings have been able to run the ball on 103 of their 168 offensive plays through three games, and while those numbers have been boosted by blowout wins at home, they also stayed committed to the run while rallying in Green Bay a week ago, handing off on 25 of their 65 offensive plays. The Packers, at times, seemed not to want to let Cousins beat them; the Bears could take a different approach with Cook now posting three straight big games and establishing himself as the primary threat on the Vikings’ offense. Chicago’s run front is also stout enough that it might not need to sell out against the run to stop it, especially if it believes Hicks and Goldman can control the line of scrimmage against Elflein, Bradbury and either Kline or Dakota Dozier. In a nationally-televised late-afternoon start at Soldier Field, the Vikings’ offense will face a tough test.

I think our style of football is very translatable to
hostile environments and against good teams in big games.  I think its more a matter of if we show up or
not.  I do think we’ll struggle against
teams with top DLines as our OLine is still a work in progress.  I don’t have a lot of faith in Cousins or the
team as a whole in big games on the road.
I think they routinely show up flat or overly anxious and wound up and
making mistakes.
