Ridiculous

Yeah, it's not really football anymore. It's about money. These guys realize the value of a good QB. They are protecting their brand.
Eventually it's going to cost them; but why should they care, with the money they have?

I've said it before and I will say it again, I expect in my lifetime to see QB's wearing flags and they will not be tackled.  

The NFL marketing geniuses must be crapping themselves not being able to hype Brees, Rapelesberger, Foles, Darnold, and Luck.  If Erin or Mahomes or Brady goes down, we will get closer to NFL flag football.

That replay looks like someone put a 'mirror' filter on Barr's hit on Rodgers back when.

In all fairness: he could have easily pulled back or run past the QB, he wasn't already committed to tackling him when the Ball left Mayfield's hands (like Barr was with Rodgers). He took two more steps and then shoved him to the ground to give him "a little extra". That's the definition of "unnecessary"  IMHO. It wasn't a malicious hit, he just didn't need to do it. He's a Pro, he should know better.

Yeah get the point about being unnesary,  particularly  knowing about CTE...  It just don't pass the eye test for most fans, watching a qb get blown up was a hilight.  Probably had the similar comments when they put facemasks on the helmet.  The game we knew will never be the same, just keeps changing.

I'm gonna hope that was BS. Otherwise why bother watching at all. Would it surprise me? No, however I have to not believe it. I know they get star treatment but to go as far as telling the other defense...

They need to get it on audio so they can fire his @ss then. Otherwise many will just feel it's a frustrated player on a sh!tty team venting and making excuses. Again do I believe it's possible. Yes, I just hope my scenario is the truth or maybe something was misunderstood.
