Eli Manning benched, Jones to start at QB for the Giants
Somewhat sad, Eli is a good dude. 2 time Super Bowl winner. But he's all washed up, he's got a dead arm. Ownership kept him in the saddle as long as they could, but the coach finally won out.

I assumed they would by at least week 5. You know, since the Vikings pretty much owned Eli. He may be a 'good dude' but I won't miss having to look at his pouty face during the games. :)
Should have happened 2 years ago. He's been done for awhile.
he was never that great to begin with, he was a chuck and duck QB from day one that has been carried by other aspects of his team. He is a good person, but I have never liked him since the way his family manipulated the situation to get him to NY. He was never worth the fuss IMO.

That said, he certainly didn't like getting hit. I remember him just throwing the ball in the dirt so many times when Zimmer's D got after him that one year.
@"greediron" said:he will get in the HOF for the same reason that so many other undeserving have been enshrined... rings and the media east coast bias. he is the poster child of a horseshoe QB, he was bailed out in so many instances by great receivers or running games and typically a pretty decent defense. he is a good passer, but thats about it IMO.@"JimmyinSD" said: he was never that great to begin with, he was a chuck and duck QB from day one that has been carried by other aspects of his team. Eli's legacy summed up in one picture:
"Lucky as F..."

Not fully getting the Eli hate here, I've got no problem with the guy? Pretty decent career, nothing mind blowing but did win 2 Superbowls.

I will say, that catch was only made possible by him shaking off two would be sackers and then getting the ball to Tyree.
Difference of opinion I guess - I Never really held Eli in high regard as a QB.
Never really thought "Oh crap, We play Eli this week"
I remember those games against us he would basically throw into the ground.

He certainly had a decent career. But right, nothing mind blowing.

We owned this guy. Darren Sharper still has Eli's pic on his cell wall... ;)

those rings are meaningless IMO. He was never the QB the media and his family wanted everybody to believe he was... good passer but that was the extent of it. he played scared and was basically carried by his team and his last name.

I see that pouting and just want someone to punch him in the face. It started at his draft and has continued his entire career.
(In a similar fashion I've grown to hate watching Cam Newton. I lost my last respect for him during his interview after the Super Bowl loss. The losing qb is always understandably unhappy with the result, but he acted like a seven year old boy. Russell Wilson lost a should-have-won game at the end of the previous Super Bowl with that interception in the end zone yet he handled himself afterward like a grown man and professional. Cam has to have the biggest swing/gap between moods of any player.)

Certainly wouldn't put Eli in the Cam Newton pout category. Is it really a pout or more a product of his face? Peyton had more of a scowl with the long forehead.
