He's selling some CBD product as a miracle cure, right? That's his fix.

He is going to hurt many people with this shit.

Concussions are bad news.  My kids brains were worth more to me than sports. .

My kid loves playing football.  I truly believe that Xenith makes the best helmet out there.
an "inner bonnet" that moves independent of the "shell".  No other helmet does that. Not the Riddell speed flex, or Schutt F7.  When I can push both jaw lines together on a Vicis, there's no way I'd have him wear that. You get ear-holed and you're drinking your dinners from a straw.

Fortunately he hasn't had a concussion in about seven years of youth football (knock wood) HOWEVER, my number is three. Three concussions and he's done.

From what I understand, he's getting concussions more than you (nor he) knows. The severe ones just get noticed.

You can Google soccer players "heading" the soccer ball and brain damage, and you'll find some evidence to back that up.

Watch the League Of Denial doc where they focused on a guy who was (I might be exaggerating some stuff to make a point, but it was shocking) a great student in high school, scholarships headed his way, not a drug addict... and - I believe - it was after too many insignificant hits to the head, he's a shell of his former self.

Yeah, I've seen that doc. and yes,  I'm worried about concussions. NO helmet can protect a player, we both know that.  He's received "tip of the spear" training (taking the head out of the game) but anything can happen. The head hitting the turf for example.

his desire to play a game he loves, supersedes my concerns. I can't deny him the joy he gets.  But as I mentioned, three and he's done.

For those of you out there whose kids play the game, I highly recommend "Tip of the Spear" training.  They are based in AZ, hold several clinics across the county and have worked with NFL and college teams nationwide.

I was was fortunate enough to have them come to the high school I teach at, and got my son in on the trainings.  Really helped his game.

Both of my son's played through high school, my oldest added another four years in college...I can honestly say I was way more concerned about spinal injuries than concussions...every year before the start of the season I was a nervous wreck before the opening kick-off...hindsight being what it is I'm glad they played...both were captains in high school...both have life long friends...both made the papers...everything in life comes with risk...you pick and choose and hope for the best...

Agree,  Reminds me of Jenny McCarthy talking about vaccines and autism and Tom Cruise and his anti mental health drugs stance.  Now we have a third idiot.
