S Josh Jones to visit Vikings tomorrow
Interesting. Would he be an upgrade from Epps? Either way, he spent all of training camp with Green Bay. Might be helpful it getting some 2019 X and O info before our week 2 match up.
Josh Jones' time in Green Bay has come to an end.
The Packers confirmed Sunday afternoon that they will waive the third-year safety, who had been dealing with a non-football illness.
Earlier in the day, Jones posted on Twitter that the Packers had informed him of his pending release. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Jones had asked to be traded.
"It's been real Green Bay," Jones wrote.
Jones was slated to begin the season as a backup to former Bears safety Adrian Amos, whom the Packers signed to a four-year deal in March.
Jones played in 29 games in two seasons with Green Bay, starting 12 of them. He recorded 100 tackles, including three sacks, and an interception. The Packers drafted the North Carolina State product late in the second round of the 2017 draft.
Didn't know he was a 2nd round draft pick just 2 years ago. Wow.

"This guy would just as soon hit you as look at you on the football field. Hey, it's fun to watch his tape because he's already got that NFL mentality to him, but he gets way out of control too. I saw that early on in the tape. You've got to rein him in a little bit."
That "out of control" part is why the Packers cut him. Sounds a bit like a head case.
That "out of control" is the same thing Mac Alexander is working out. Dude may have a home, could have some badass attitude with the Hit-man Harry mentoring the group.
