Female Soccer Player Given Opportunity To Kick In NFL
I have no problem with anyone trying out for a team but I don't know which team is going to want to put her on their 53 man roster when spots are at a premium. Seems like she should have been tried out when there was time in training camp and preseason games to play in.

On Monday, Galanis told Fox Sports that the U.S. soccer great was given the opportunity to be a part of an NFL roster and see game time. Galanis didn’t name which NFL team, but Lloyd’s interest conflicted with the U.S. match against Portugal on Thursday.
Seems gimmicky because she's never kicked in a game situation or even a preseason game. Or even over a line of scrimmage?
Not saying she couldn't, what I'm saying is really....a team was going to give her a roster spot?? Unproven like she is? Seems odd. There are a bunch of soccer players than could kick a football and make a 60 yard plus FG. But how consistently?
If she was given the opportunity, I could see a lot of people having a problem with that. I did see the videos on Twitter of her kicks though.
It had to be nothing but a publicity stunt. I also am not buying that any team gave her an offer. Im willing to bet that EVERY kicker playing college football could do exactly what she did. No pads on, no defense rushing at her and most importantly, she basically took a run at the ball before kicking it. It was almost like a kickoff.
How does she make a 53 man roster if every team is playing on Thursday and she has a conflict to kick in the last preseason game is my question. i am sure every team has some serious decisions to make and giving anyone that is unproven (male or female) is not something they have the luxury of doing.
Sounds more like it was a promotional gimmick for all involved.
This is the equivalent of letting a special needs kid run for a touchdown during a HS football game.
I'm no ST coach, but a 5-7 step run up ain't gonna cut it...
