Badet And Waynes Ready Themselves For Blown Hammys
i just dont see how an agent thinks that this is a good competition for a former first round draft pick that has improved each year in the league. so he proves he is wicked fast... new flash Trae, the football world knows you are fast as hell, the questions to answer this year to get you paid more are can you improve on playing the ball and can you keep your melon out of the tackles so you dont miss games due to a bruised noodle or some other form of impairment caused by your rail like frame not being able to handle the demands of the game.
Well, he's played 60 out of a possible 64 games, so it's not like he's been Mr. Glass. Plus he's fairly stout in the run game.

i just think this publicity stunt can do him more harm than good in terms of his next deal. lets say he runs poorly, or heaven forbid he does shred a hammy like you speculated.
On the other hand, how many terrible football players have gotten drafted high, just because they ran fast at the Combine?

@"Kentis" said:he could lose that much per season on a new contract if he tears his hammy. Badet makes sense to me, he is on a tiny contract and nobody outside of his family know who he is.... lots to gain and could likely use the coin as well.@"JimmyinSD" said:The winner of 40 Yards of Gold would walk away with $1.135 million. Every Oakland Raider draftee since the 1970's.... ;)
Maybe they are just have some fun to go with the money. A little ego thing for the pride. They could have a home run derby I suppose.

I hate it when the Twins players are in the derby.
I'm not sure why its such a risk to tear a hamstring. They do this at the combine every year.

and every year multiple guys have to pull out of the combine because they pull a hammy or quad running a stupid sprint in their underwear... that proves nothing about their ability to play football.
