He's over 300 lbs now and word is that Vikings are very pleased with his offseason and how he's looked physically. He's big and versatile. Long limbed and that will help inside as a pass rusher. Sounds like the team thinks he's going to take a nice step up this season at 3-tech.

Treadwell has the talent IMO, but his issues seem to be mental. It is always something mentally with him. Trying too hard, working out fanatically, letting drops get in his head.
I guess on the others, late round or UDFAs, if you are gonna swing for something there, swing big. Camp bodies are easy to find. But if you hit on a late rounder, it can cover lots of blemishes. (Diggs and Thielen)

Treadwell is big and athletic, but he is not very fluid in running routes and struggles to get adequate separation from the defender. Then again, even a blind chicken finds a kernel of corn once in a while.

Diggs didn't go to a big college program, Smith is TBD, and the rest of those are all on the bubble for roster spots.

"Paying off" implies that it's a strategy in the first place, which I don't necessarily agree with. If it is, it's probably more "high recruit" than "big school." And since Diggs, Kearse, Downs and Thomas were all highly recruited players taken in the 5th round and below, the fact that they're all still on the team is probably considered a "win" if it is a strategy.
