Can the Colts Unseat the Pats this year?
I don't feel as strongly about the Colts or less of the Chiefs then some. Both could happen. Anything could happen. The Colts are only 1 year removed from a double digit loss season. They haven't proven it to me yet. The Chiefs have a nice young QB and back to back double digit win seasons. I guess it doesn't matter really as long as someone knocks out the Patriots. The chiefs had their shot. Maybe it's someone else's turn. Or they might do better next time.
Colts should be good, but not sure about AFC's best.
The Patriots are still the class of the AFC until Brady and/or Belicheck retire. I would actually have the Chargers ahead of the Colts in the AFC pecking order... their defense is very good and very underrated.
If I had to make a list of potential AFC playoff teams, I'd have it like this:
1) Patriots
2) Chargers
3) Colts
4) Steelers
5) Chiefs
6a) Texans
6b) Browns
6c) Ravens
Sorry... went a little Trey Wingo on the last couple.

That's a good list. Think the Steelers might slide back into your A, B,C section. With the Ravens sliding up.
Oh and I almost forgot the Browns. I guess when everyone talks about a team I blank them out.

I wouldn't disagree with that either... after the top 3 teams in my list, the rest all have some obvious flaws that could keep them out of the playoffs.

Browns...….who are the Browns? Are they a new expansion team? :)

Well no list now is allowed to omit them now. Or that's just how it seems...
I will believe when I see it but we haven't seen anything yet.
Good topic. KC and Reid just don't get it done in the playoffs. Losing Hunt and probably(hopefully) Hill won't help. Colts D might be the best of the lot, added some interesting pieces and another outside threat at WR. Luck has playoff experience and a helluva OL...
The Colts should dethrone the Pats. They spent time to build their defense and that offensive line has to make Luck sleep well at night.
Weird, but.....it's like 2 months until NFL training camps start.
Scary thing about the Patriots is that they finish first despite fielding a roster that wouldn't rank in the top 7 or 8. Don't look now, but they're actually putting some pieces on that team. Shocking to me that they still don't have a QB behind Brady. Interesting bit of trivia: Packers drafted Rodgers when Favre was 35. Rodgers is 35.
I think this year will see a changing of the guard in the AFC. Steelers, Chiefs and Ravens will move out of the top group--all three teams lost a lot in the offseason--while the Colts and Browns become the teams to beat. Browns probably have the best young roster in the NFL. We'll see if they have the leadership to get something out of it.
as a Chiefs fan it pains me to say this, but despite Mahomes being one of the top young QBs in the game, they have lost to much to be considered in the top group IMO. Teams will now key on Kelce as the only remaining weapon. They will have some others that will try and step up, but they lost that special edge they had.

we are still working on that, although I am guessing it will all be gone if we get the rain they are talking.

I'm from the North, born and raised in a place that gets even more snow and winter than Minneapolis. So when I say I could NEVER again spend a winter living up there, it comes from a place of knowing. Yuck.

Amen to that. Wife and I are having many discussions about whether to just up and go West or SW or do the snowbird thing? We do love a white Xmas and the change of seasons. Leaving in Jan and returning Mar/Apr sounds pretty good.Health above all else.
