Best Available Day 3.
Hakeem Butler was a guy that I (based on what the experts said) would go higher. He'd be a nice addition. And, of course, there are still DBs left to pluck. I would guess that most OL prospects- at this point- are "projects" (i.e. will need time before they can start). And that's OK, too.
If we draft a fourth consecutive player on offense, Zim will look like he contracted Dragon scale...
I'd be down with Butler...Johnson from Iowa...Edwards from Wisconsin...there's a lot left...and if Rick loves someone, he can go up with one of our 17 Day 3 picks...

But I think the Vikings have a hangup on drops.

His size, his long stride; goes up and gets it. He may not always blow by the top of the defense but he can win the one on ones snagging the ball. He is really good at seperating from defenders as he attacks the ball in the air. His guy could be blanketed on him in coverage - as soon as he finds the ball and leaps space just happens. Then, he can be a monster to bring down. Dude is hungry for the endzone once he has the ball. He uses his size and challenges defenders to take him down - running straight through defenders and winning often.
Thats a hell of a comparison, but yea watching him run and play in his highlights reminded me a lot of a bigger Randy Moss.
If Rudy is really on the way out, this guy would be awesome to watch play next to Diggs and Thielen. It be awesome to watch him in camp competing with Treadwell.
I hate to say this but there is a lot of value in taking a guy like Finley at this point.
WR Butler, OG Samia, OG Jordan, S Thompson, DT Willis (later)
@"BarrNone55" said: There is a ton of prospects still available.Yes there are... and all of Rick's 6ths and 7ths should help us take advantage of that.
If we could come away with Samia (OG), Butler or Ridley (WR), and Hanks or Cashman (LB) early, we would be sitting pretty.
There are still some good CB and S left too. I would expect Rick to make some moves today... Maybe even a trade up or two. I doubt we keep all those 6ths.
Charles Omenihu is who I would like to see in round 4 today. Samia would be good too
Here are some players I'm hoping for...
DL
Rennel Wren, DT - Underrated 3T
Justin Hollins, DE - Hunter-like specimen
OL
Dru Samia, G - Mean as a snake. Penalty prone?
Lamont Gaillard, C - Tough leader, great character
Oli Udoh, T - Massive, athletic small school kid
Chidi Okeke, T - Massive, athletic
WR
Riley Ridley - slow timed speed but the best route runner in the draft
Emmanuel Hall - Good size, deadly speed
Hakeem Butler - 16% drop rate scary. Also some sort of knee issue. But damn, dude is a freak
DB
Amani Hooker, S - Good size, instinctive
Isaiah Johnson, CB - Big, long press corner. Perfect Zimmer type
Amani Oruwariye - Good size can press
And there goes Butler at the top of round 4... the "Protect Treadwell Draft" has served it's purpose.

I know a Seminole fan who's very happy right now. :-)
Lol, I feel asleep...good pick...might push Kline but depth for sure...
Have we ever picked four Offensive players to start a draft and 3 of them on the line?
@"BarrNone55" said: Lol, I feel asleep...good pick...might push Kline but depth for sure...I think he has a chance to start fairly early. So we now have Elflein competing with Collins at left guard, Bradbury at center and Kline competing with Samia at RG.
We need a left tackle to get a better vision of the future line.
Reiff (replace) - Elf - Brad - Samia - O'Neill
..and to think we took Samia before Isaiah Johnson, who was an IDEAL Zimmer press corner we know he liked a lot.
