he wasnt really a mascot... more like a fur clad fan turned male cheerleader. want to talk embarrasing.... some of his antics were embarrasing as hell.... not obese fat white guy with a G painted on his shirtless belly embarrasing... but pretty bad.
I never knew the Chicken hung out at the MetroDome - here is back in 1982. I think the San Diego Chicken was the best back in the day.

How his tenure ended here with the public negativity was sad to see; I meet him once in my teenage years up in Northern MN and he was an incredibly nice guy.

I don't know what qualifies as a mascot. Only someone dressing up like a comic caricature of the nickname is a mascot and not someone actually dressing the part? Both have a place I quess. Is a live animal a mascot or a team pet? I really don't know what he added to or took out the game day experience. I was just going with the angle. Revved up...motorcycle. Guess nobody got my joke. That's not a 1st.

Should we go with a "real" Viking? One that "cuts" the players who make mistakes in front of the entire crowd - one that "paints the field Red" - effectively scaring the absolute shit out of our opponents?

See now that's character...Something that captures the persona and essence of the regions heritage, heck the very brand Vikings.Granted it's gotta a 60's or 70's vibe, but I would have started with this and just updated it a bit.
