He keeps offering to restructure. I say why not give it a shot.
Personally, I'm a fan of the Hamberger Helper hands of Rudy. He's a great player, and only second to Steve Jordan as best Viking TE ever.

I am not saying we need to part with him because he is still an asset at the right price, but guaranteed money or prorated cap numbers hampers how easy it will be to walk away from him if the shoe falls off early.
I think he’s the last real candidate for getting an
extension that could give us more cap flexibility this year, and there’s no
real reason to move on it in the short term unless they have someone they need
to fit under the cap. I think they’d
wait until after the draft, see if they pick up a TE, see who they need to sign
as a FA in camp, and then make a decision after everything else is finalized or
we need to make space.
