I like this kid, 6'4", 228 lbs. Good leadership. More athletic than seems at first blush. Definitely has the upside to be a backup NFL QB and maybe hit gold for possibly more. Probably a Day 3 pick but still, wouldn't mind the Vikings taking a 4th or 5th round stab at him.

 ESPN Chris Mortenson:
Clayton Thorson, Northwestern quarterback who started 53 games for @coachfitz51, is definitely on teams' radars as perhaps the most underrated QB in the draft. This is worth checking out. Looking forward to talking about Thorson more as we get close to the #NFLDraft.

p.s. Haven't forgotten about Kyle Sloter, who I like. I just really don't know what the organization thinks about Sloter. I guess we'll find out. If he's Cousins's primary backup than that's a great sign.

Dump former Northwestern QB Siemian for Thorson. Ok, I’ll bite.

Thorson is intriguing.  I think someone snags him early 3rd.
Rare measureables. Similar to Sloter, actually.  I've seen him mocked at the end of Round 2 to NE, and I didn't think it was crazy.

Stidham and Browning are my picks if they fall far enough

I actually liked the little I saw of Sloter. I think he is viewed as an asset by the team enough that they kept him. I like his movement in the pocket and he's got some of that Case moxi. We will still likely bring in a 3rd after Siemian leaves. I never liked him by the way.

I think they need to draft a mid round QB to challenge Sloter,  but I also think that Sloter is our backup this year,  if they dont think he is that guy then they need to move on a QB even earlier so they have a viable option after cap'n Kirk is through this deal.   We can't be hostages to another  monster contract demand.

I like Stidham and Minshu in the middle rounds. My sleeper is Jacob Dolegala, Central Connecticut State, 6-6, 230, strong arm, nice over the top motion, throws really well on the move.

I'm not a massive fan, but the Vikings are supposedly very into Will Grier.

My favorite QB early on. Like his toughness. But he was god awful at the Senior Bowl, which is never a good sign.
