Any offensive linemen left in free agency worth signing?
Lang still out there and at 31 should be affordable. Sadly Iupati's injuries have probably caught up with him.
Could be that the line before the draft is Reiff, Easton, Elflein, Jones or Compton, O'Neill, Collins, Isidora, Hill, and Edison.
It's not looking like it will be worth the money to spend on anyone else.
Take a flyer on Levitre. Doesnt need to be the starter right away, could be Joe Berger.
Levitre, Easton, Collins plus two draft picks in the first 4 rounds, you could have something
Reiff-Levitre/Easton-Elf-Collins/1st RD-ONeill
Or
ONeill-Reiff-Elf-1st Rd-Collins with Easton, Jones, Levitre and Hill as backups
All I know is the disparity between the Bears DL and Vikings OL cost us another Division Title.
The trenches need to be upgraded.
Offensive line is the most important area that must improve. If you’re giving up more pressures in the first 11 games than all of the year before, your’re simoly going to struggle as an offense.
With that said there are likely a handful of upgrades available. Not huge upgrades or elite player, but better than what we have. Study these vets closely amd try to get an upgrade. Then spend a pick within the first two rounds to get another starter.
Daryl Williams re-signed with the Panthers.
Things are bleak.
It's going to have to be lower-profile guys who fit the scheme. Max Garcia played for Kubiak in Denver, and our new OL coach Dennison had John Miller and Ryan Groy last year in Buffalo. Garcia and Groy are both versatile, and if they know the new scheme they will have an advantage. I think we'll sign one or two of those.
