NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos "will now shop" Case Keenum after acquiring Joe Flacco from the Ravens on Wednesday. Keenum inked a two-year, $36 million deal with Denver last offseason and was never going to be anything more than a short-term stopgap, one that now looks like will only last a single season. Keenum is guaranteed $7 million in 2019 and carries a $21 million cap hit with an $18 million base salary. Only a team that views Keenum as a starter would trade for that financial commitment. If the Broncos end up having to release Keenum, they'd clear $11 million in cap space and absorb a $10 million dead-money hit. Either way, Keenum is expected to be done in Denver.

I might feel bad for Case, but he's got enough $$$ now where even his grandkids won't need to work.
I am not surprised by this one. Good for Keenum for getting paid while he could.
He gets to see 25 of the 36 mill===not bad work if you can get it.
Also heard about the shumur reconnect but some talking head was saying they were giving eli the nod for 2019. BLEEECH talk about a dead horse being trotted(more like drug) out for a swansong.

Radio guys in Denver are saying this means the Broncos now won't draft a QB. Do they know who Joe Flacco is? He's even more of a bridge QB than Keenum was.

Kaep had a good run too until... defenses figured out he couldn't beat them with the pass. And then he took away by diet change and losing weight. Then the milestone of a huge contract, poor play and drama.

I think the only numbers there that don't compare well are 6-6'' 245lb.
Elway loves his big arm QB'S. While we bash and laugh at John for his QB blunders lets stop and give credit for not paying Brock Osweiler the money Houston got robbed for. Case was a short term vision any way he looked at it. Maybe Not one year short but...

Or maybe they just mean that the Broncos will wait a year until the QBs available are better.
ralphie---looks like more of the same if donks don't fix their oline issues also.
on a side note---keenum has a little more escapability so flaccio might not even finish the season.
