....but Romo is a good analyst. He can talk too much at times, but I'm assuming he is told to do so.

He comes across, at least to me, as genuinely excited, not the scripted, pre-planned BS that turds like Joe Buck and WTF Aikman dish out ad nauseum.

Gotta give him props. He is good.

I really like listening to him because he knows the game and actually talks about the game. There are very few good commentators in football right now.

I can't get there on Romo as an announcer. No doubt he knows the game and knows it well.

talks way too much and starting to become like Buck or Collingworth with the continual slobbering on one player

He actually calls out coverages and predicts with accuracy what is going to happen before it happens.  He also appears to be completely impartial the best I can tell.

I don't like the Cowboys but I always liked Romo as a player. I like him even more as a broadcaster.

Broadcasters take lots of guff from fans for not adding anything, then one comes along who does offer real insights and is pretty good at predicting plays, and fans don't like that either. Tough crowd

I'm just a typical critic I guess. I don't know what I like. I just know what I don't like. I don't like Joe Buck. I don't dislike Tony. That's the best I can give.
Honestly I don't like most really. I don't like cheerleaders. That's what most do.
I don't like way more then I should. Yep typical critic.

Better than Buck is faint praise.  Yes he isn't as annoying as most, but he is getting there IMO.  Much more informative, but still talks too much.

CBS Reportedly Ready to Give Tony Romo 'Substantial' Raise to Stay with NetworkAs Tony Romo's broadcasting reputation continues to grow, CBS is willing to do whatever it takes to keep him in the booth. The New York Post's Andrew Marchand reported Monday that the network "is prepared to give Romo a substantial raise." The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback has one year left on his deal with CBS and earns around $4 million annually, according to Marchand.
Richard Deitsch of The Athletic asked Romo if he has received any contract offers to make a return to the playing field.
"There are legitimate contract offers and there are, 'Hey, what are you thinking?'" Romo replied.
