Coach Super Freak?????

Great player does not mean great coach, but I do not see how you can not give him a chance.  

Everyone said he was a really smart receiver.  But, that being said, it's one thing to know something... it's another to be able to teach it to others.  Plus, he wasn't all that coachable himself, was he?  

Coach Randy Moss would probably stand as the 3rd best WR on this roster...

Not sure how I feel about this one...

Cultural Fit? Plays to his inherent strengths as a person vs an athlete?

I don't think Zim would approve of his "I coach when I want to coach" attitude.  I couldn't imagine Moss having the attention span for something like coaching.

If nothing else, caterers all over the state are on notice.

Et tu Brute? I understand this coming from outsiders, but from a Viking fan? The question posed to Randy was "Does Cris Carter motivate you to play." Randy was the world's worst communicator. He responded "I play when I want to play." Obviously, what he meant was that he didn't need anyone to motivate him; he motivated himself. But the way it came out made him sound like a total POS.

One thing that we can't really put a value on is how impressed young, incoming players would be playing under Coach Randy Moss. I can't help but imagine the "swagger" that could come from a group of guys in awe by who they are playing for. Even if Randy's role was very minimal I think these young players would respond in a way that very few coaches can capture these days. I picture players automatically buying-in out of respect and awe.

Not saying this needs to happen by any stretch but if it did, this would be my first reaction. We have no idea how or what Coach Moss would teach as a coach - but I think we damn well could assume that the roster would be incredibly impressed and fired up to play under him. He wouldn't be coaching his peers or guys who played along side of him; he'd be coaching guys who idolized him growing up themselves.

I thought he had a good job. Something happen to his TV gig?

I think that he has matured over time. He still has that swagger and he is in the Hall of Fame. Also he is doing great work with young people. I think time and experience can be great teachers. Also he has a lot of valuable knowledge and experience he could share. He might surprise some people. 

How does he teach someone with inferior skill set to his own? Was he ever a student of the game? Some people were born to play. Some were born to coach.

Sticking point will be the team wanting to send him a paycheck while he demands straight cash, homey.

Sorry if my comments doesn't sit well with you (or anyone else), but I grew tired of Randy's antics.  He was a superstar WR, but his attitude really bothered me.  He lost me when he walked off the field during that Skins game. 

Unlike many Viking fans, I wasn't sorry to see him leave (both times).  I just wish they could've gotten more in return.

I enjoy listening to him as a commentator; he seems to have matured, but no way could I ever envision him back coaching the Vikings.

IDK... but Moss DID retweet the notion (albeit in jest).....

DB's are already at sea trying to cover AT & SD.  Imagine the DBs watching them coming to the sidelines with further instructions from the GOAT.

Yeah he did. He grew up nicely. Him and TO were the bad boys of their era. Both were constantly compared. However neither were ever the legal trouble, beating wives and public menace types. Remember continually comparing the two? Remember the constant who was more trouble? I think the HOF induction proved TO won that contest. Randy has become something Viking fans can be proud of. Even those who still aren't will not get any further fuel for their fire. Nice transformation from great player to good representative of the game. I don't know if he can coach. I'm not sure you can teach players how to be the most athletically gifted man on the field any given day. Super Freak is not learned it's God given. How can that be taught?
