As an old guy it's my humble opinion it takes talent, chemistry, and some luck along the way.
Injuries, a ball doinks an upright, a ref's BS call to keep a game "interesting", a broken coverage...

well losing at the LOS certainly wont get you anywhere.
Warriors and shield maidens, I've come to the conclusion...and I posted this a few months back, that this whole season is reminiscent to the MLB's McGwire-Sosa 1998 season.
Yeah, I know...aluminum foil hats are required to read the following...but here goes:
Baseball had a serious attendance issue due to the strike shortened 1994 season and the cancellation of the World Series. That was showing up at the turnstiles in the following years and helping to kill interest in the game. Voila'...the home run "chase" and the increase in long-balls overall resurrected baseball.
The last couple of years of kneeling disgruntled players have caused fan protests and half-empty stadiums. Even playoff bound teams found plenty of open seats coming down the stretch. What better way to get interest back up than to implement "ghost" penalties on the defense and allow NBA-esque scoring?
This is not to say the quality of play is not on the up-and-up (i.e. performance enhancers) that was the true basis of baseball's comeback. But defenses have a target squarely on their backs and it's more than the ones provided by Goff, Mahomes, Brady and Brees.
Kind of interesting that last year's final four had 4 of the top 5 defenses in the league. Things can change quickly and will again.
Ralphie---How do the numbers hold up for the season. They started with bs roughing the passer callsearly on but seemed to slow down by say the 4th game. Over the season by comparison what was the percentage of roughing the passer and pi of the wr.
Get out your tinfoil---I feel they backed of the rtp and moved to more questionable pi calls because of early backlash.
