To me, Reiff and Griffen need to be reworked...Harris has made Sendejo extremely expendable...Remmers and Treadwell need to be gone...assuming these moves, we can clear another $20-25 million...

Isn't the cap supposed to be raised 10-12 million for the 2019 season?  Make the necessary cuts and rework some contracts, then we might be looking pretty good.

Yes, the link reflects the $190 million cap...

Not much to work with. I agree Sendejo and Treadwell are gone. There will be others.
Draft is going to be critical this year. Need to find starter level players.

Instead of Rick moving down to acquire 10 or more picks...I'd rather have him move up and get 4 or 5 quality players.  Usually, with 10 picks at least half are cut and 3 go to the practice squad.  That only leaves 2 or 3 making the active roster.

I don't see that getting rid of Treadwell helps the cap situation given his dead money situation.

I would try to trade Griffin. His health this year will hurt his stock but he’s a beast who can play in any defense so he should be attractive to a couple of teams. Starting this new season his contract is movable and very attractive to a trading team. I think Weatherly is ready to take over.

After Griffin's health scare, the Vikings won't trade him.  It would look like they're bailing out on him.  They would probably approach him and try to rework his existing contract to free up some monies.

My 2 cents:
Trade Xavier (can't stay healthy) for a high draft pick
Restructure Griffen (if he's willing)
Cut Remmers, Zendejo, Treadwell
Re-sign Easton, Harris, Bailey (?), A. Robinson, Hill (as a back-up only), Ham, Wile (cheap only)
Let walk: Barr, Richardson, etc...

By the way, it's sad to me that our defense has $9 million more invested into it- even after spending "so much" on Cousins... and we have a defense that can't be counted on when it matters.

I think we also need to be looking at Linval,  he certainly wasnt the guy we needed in the middle this year and his number of snaps dont justify paying him over 10 million this coming year IMO.   I was really disappointed in how much ground our interior DL surrendered in many instances this season.

That's pretty close to my plan. I wouldn't trade Rhodes just to clear space though. It would have to be for a valuable pick. While I agree he's limping alot. Last year he was locking down every team we played best. I wouldn't dump him cheap based on this year.
The rest is spot on. Barr and the rest are not helping enough to get paid how they want.

The Vikings only have 5 picks this year.  Maybe a comp pick or two coming, but with Bradford not counting, that would mean Keenum and Cousins will cancel.  I think Bridgewater and Richardson would cancel, so maybe a 7th rounder or 2 for Brock and Stephen?  Unless they mortgage the future, I don't think they can move up too much.
