I've said this the past two years. Maybe this year Rick will finally listen. Here's hoping, we need OL help bad

I haven't started looking into draft prospects yet, but in terms of positions, we need:

OT :: O'Neill seems like he can handle one of the spots, but Reiff is slowing down and it would be wise to bring someone in this year.
RG :: Major need. Remmers tried, but he just is not suited to playing RG and is too expensive to keep around for depth.
LG :: It really depends on what they think of Easton and his health. He was better than Compton, but I was never fully sold on him either. Neck injuries are scary, so it depends on how confident they are in his recovery.
WR :: It was clear that we need a 3rd receiver to take advantage of the mismatches created by Thielen and Diggs. Add a decent 3rd receiver who can take advantage of those matchups and teams won't be able to lock up Thielen like they have the past few weeks.
TE :: Rudolph is still fine, but we are still in need of an athletic TE who can pick up YAC. Could be a complimentary player who takes over for Rudolph in the next couple years.
RB :: Murray is likely gone. We have some talent in Boone and Thomas, but our depth at RB could still be upgraded. Probably not a high pick, but if there is an interesting power back on day 3, then it would be a wise move.
DE :: Probably more of an opportunistic need. We have players who fit the scheme and work, but if there is a talented project in the 3rd or 4th round, then now would be a good time to bring a player in here.
DT :: Even if Richardson leaves, we have some pieces to work with in Johnson and Hill. However, I also think that Joseph is starting to slow down, so like DE, it could be a good position to try to upgrade if someone slides into our laps.
LB :: If Barr leaves, then this is near the top of our non-OL needs, since Wilson is OK depth and Gedeon is a 2-down player who can't stop the run. So even if we keep Barr, then adding depth here is a major concern.
KR/PR :: The importance of kick returners has been diminished by ruled changes, but our return game poses no threat to opposing teams. Sherels could still be passable as a punt returner, but there must be a returner out there better than Zylstra and Abdullah.

I know that this is a lot of positions and they likely all won't be address through the draft or rookie free agents, but it's meant as a starting point.

Wherever it is, I sure hope the 1st pick is a DB......that fucking strategy has certainly resulted in some crazy sucessful playoff "runs"!

Is one-in-a-row a thing? Or does a team have to win at least TWO playoff games before they can claim a playoff "run"? My memory is getting foggy, considering this phenomona of multiple playoff wins hasn't occured for the Vikings since the 1987 season. Please forgive an old man for my memory lapse.

P.S. Great job rising to the occasion, Kirk! Way to "will" your team to the playoffs!

Right now, and it will probably change, I'd sign the best RG I could find in free agency, then draft a LT in the 1st and another guard in the 2nd or 3rd.

We can get out of Reiff fairly cheaply in '19 if we choose to, though I doubt we will since we'll likely lose Hill. Better to have the rookie come in as a backup anyway.

Guard is upgraded with Easton, the free agent and a high draft pick. Don't just fix the OL. Need some overkill on this one.

The 18th spot should definitely get them a starting OG or OT. Great position for that.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if  BPA @ 18 is going to be DT or even LB....

Just saying - and if Richardson/Barr both walk???

Then fire them all. Listen, at some point you need to pick a guy that you can plug n play into a massive weakness: BPA is optimally really mostly when you don't have a gigantic weakness somewhere. Nobody is going to tell me that the 2nd best OT or the best OG isn't going to be available at that spot.

Round 1 - offensive lineman
Round 2 - linebacker
Round 3 - offensive lineman
Round 4 & 6 - Whatever

I didn't add in the compensary (sp) picks...also, sign a top free agent guard and release Compton, Remmers and Sendejo.  Restructure other contracts and make some of these things happen.

You make a goid point AZ. Lost in this disappointing season is the fact that Anthony Harris has become a top flight safety. He is far better than Sendajo. I thought Harris was the better player coming into the season but it’s not close. He’s really well rounded and in my opinion has become a top 5 player at the position.

The Vikings will have the cap space this offseason, watch and see. Things are going to change.

Very possible. Just depends on where the value is, and what we do in free agency.

I thought we traded out of the 3rd round in the 2018 draft to pick up an extra #3 in 2019?
