Effing A...
@"HappyViking" said:Exactly, they look like this against every .500+ team. Do you not think this team has the talent to beat a decent team? This is coaching and mentality... We are a soft finesse team that relies on scheme.@"purpleloki" said: This team wasn't ready to play period. They looked like they were seeing things for the first time and being reactive. This team never gets up mentally for big games and that's on the coaching staff. Too many good players to "play" this poorly. I don't buy it they weren't ready. I just think Chicago is just way better. This Viking team just isn't very good. They look like this when playing any good team.
ol was simply ragdolled...
left and right and middle.
Cousins had 2 seconds minus on any given play.
It was a mercy killing.
Fix it.
the bears stunk last year, now with a new coach are formidable. i think Zim and Rick need to go. new blood could rejuvinate this talent filled team.
Since the bye, the Vikings have only scored in the first quarter against the Dolphins and the packers. When a team is consistently shut out in the first quarter, week in and week out, the coaching staff is doing a poor job of preparing the team for the game imo
@"HappyViking" said:Until they prove they can whip a good team for four quarters I agree. it started out this way in the first part of the season and had hopes we would improve and be able to play NE and Seattle at a high level like a top shelf team. The only thing we have is a defense and they cannot carry the team. The only playoff team that we beat was Philly and look who won their last two games and who lost when it counted.@"purpleloki" said: This team wasn't ready to play period. Two people deserve credit for how this year turned out. their names are Spielman and Zimmer.
You can argue about the players all you want. Far too many times this team lost before the game even started. And we had personnel problems before the year even started and injuries greatly magnified those issues.
Part of me feels like we need tos tick to the steelers organization mentality which is to stick with a coach for a long time. But part of me feels like that sort of investment isn’t something you make with a guy zimmers age.
I said earlier in the year that I thought we had reached our potential with this group. Today solidified that feeling for me.

The Steelers hires were:
Chuck Knoll age 36
Bill Cowher age 34
Mike Tomlin age 34
Vikings hired:
Mike Zimmer age 57

Both SHOULD go, but they'll both be back, unfortunately.
I have a bigger problem with L'il Ricky returning than Zim (although the teams chronic failure
13 years, 2 playoff wins (one an absolute fucking miracle). Spin those numbers anyway you want, but the results still SUCK ASS.
I have ZERO confidence in Saint Richard reconfiguring this roster enough in 1 offseason in order to surpass not only their competition in the NFC, but also the LOADED ROSTERS in the AFC, whom the Vikings would have to beat in order to WIN a SB (lol!).
TRUE CHANGE needs to start at the top of ANY organization.
RICKY NEEDS TO GO!

Uh yeah.... Thats what I am saying. He is too old for that longevity model.

It is fairly moot. You fire the GM the coach is likely gone too and yes both need to go.
The buck has to stop somewhere. I guess some Viking's fans are so used to disappointment that their sights are set very low.
