Watch enough football over the years and that's really no surprise. Its been the Vikings, Packers or Bears as a powerhouse from the North (or Central) in the NFC for decades now.

I think TG was thinking that the decline of the puke would give the Vikes the conch for a few years before the bears got their shit together,  but if they get their offense clicking with that defensive front 7... the bears could be damn good for the next couple years,  I still think their defensive backfield is suspect and their entire O is held together by smoke and mirrors... but they are on the right path.  of course we thought that about our Vikes and their defense leading the charge,  but for now the bears have the momentum.

I think it's going to be tough to do anything against that defense. 3 first rounders and Danny Trevathan on the 2nd level. That's about as good as it gets. I think where you beat the Bears is by exposing their offense, which should not be all that difficult. And then playing mistake free offense. They beat us on a pick six. They beat the Rams because they forced Goff to throw 4 picks. You take that shit away and they're just another team. Bisky threw for 110 yards and 3 picks against the Rams. He threw for 165 and 2 picks against us. Is that a playoff team?

The Bears defense is for real.  They beat the crap out of the Rams and dominated them about as much as they did to the Vikes, if not more.  Yeah, defense does still matter, and the Bears might be "THE" team in the NFC right now because of their defense and just enough offense.

We thumped the Rams pretty good at home last year as well.  I wonder if their offense doesn't travel as well, especially against a good D. 

Bears shut down Gurley and Goff couldn't carry them.  Outdoors, in the cold, on the road.

Goff couldn't take the cold. He was terrible.
The Bears are a good team but Trubisky has poor downfield accuracy and will eventually get dinged up or injured with all the running he does. If they have to travel to LA for the playoffs, there would likely be a different outcome.

nope,  but they are just gimmicky enough on O to keep even good defenses guessing a bit.  the key IMO is to make Trubisky play QB and have the O run through him instead of the running game... which is proving harder than it should seem to be.   Their D is solid,  but is really dependent on Hicks and Mack,  if they can be neutralized IMO the bears back end will be vulnerable.  their DBs spend to much time looking into the offensive backfield and are vulnerable on double moves... a team with a good healty OL and QB should be able expose that.

Back in the day, the mighty LA Rams would visit the Vikings in the cold for their annual playoff wooping...
