We're still here but that was a doozy of an earthquake.

7+ and we were at the epicenter.  Shook the crap out of things. power out for 20 hours.  Chimney came down, sheetrock damage and  every cupboard emptied onto the floor.  Had built in shadow boxes in a stairwell that some ow jumped off the wall/landing and destroyed all of my wife's crystal  collection.  Everyone is safe and the rest is possessions so clean up and start over.

Oh and the Game isn't on locally so :(

Hang tough AK, I can still remember the Sylmar quake as a kid...water rocking our of our pool, chandeliers swaying...scary.  We still get a lot of quakes, but nothing like a 7 on the Richter scale.

Thank God you and yours are alright. That was something else. I seen some of the videos. Pretty scary stuff. Our hurricanes give us notice to get out of the way at least.
Good luck with the rebuild. Glad it wasn't any worse for you.

it's partially the quake, but when you've had hundred's of after shocks it starts to get a little like chineese water torture.   You can hear them coming from miles away and keep wondering if it'll be another major shaker.

I cannot imagine what it was like to go through that. Glad to hear you and the family are safe, AK. There have been a lot of pictures of highways split open with cars sitting in between the deep crevices. How terrifying that was for those folks!

Wow, I can only image what that's like.  Good luck with all the repairs and cleanup, but glad to hear you and your wife are Ok.
