Which Maybe-Soon-to-Be-Open NFL Head-Coaching Job Is the Most Enticing?
Seats are heating up around the league, and five franchises may have coaching vacancies by season’s end. But based on team personnel, front office staff, and overall culture, only one job can be the most appealing.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Remember hearing DeFilippo was the next "hot" prospect for a HC job, and is anyone worried we lose DeFilippo this off season? I think his name has cooled off quite a bit.
Surprised they didn't include the Raven in this list. I keep hearing that if they don't turn it around in the 2nd half of the season Harbaugh's probably gone.
Green Bay Packers
This one isn’t all that complicated. If Mike McCarthy is fired,
the next coach of the Packers will get a chance to work with one of the
greatest quarterbacks ever for what will likely be the final years of
his illustrious career. The chance to coach a guy like Aaron Rodgers
comes along once in a lifetime, and it’s likely going to have people
lining up around the block to interview for this job.
Green Bay’s offense has been in need of a schematic and
play-calling overhaul for some time. If the team landed someone of Riley
or DeFilippo’s ilk, the Packers hit the ground running in that coach’s
first season. The offense has talent, with Davante Adams on the
outside, a quality pass-blocking line in front of Rodgers, and the
explosive Aaron Jones toting the rock. The right offensive mind could
turn this group into a powerhouse.
The Packers’ history as a conservative franchise may give
some coaches pause, though. Green Bay has been hesitant to take big
swings in free agency over the years, and even with a new regime in the
front office—led by Ted Thompson disciple Brian Gutekunst—the Packers
probably won’t be making any big splashes any time soon.
Still, Gutekunst has more than $40 million in projected
cap space to work with next season and two first-round picks. Combine
that with the young, talented players that are already on Green Bay’s
roster, like Jaire Alexander, and the Packers could seen a spike in play
by the start of next season. There’s no reason to overthink this one:
The chance to coach Rodgers for one of the most storied franchises in
sports—one that typically employs its head coaches for more than a
decade—is as good as it gets.
Jason Garrett must have some sweet pics of Jurruh to keep his job after 9 1/2 years, double digit wins in only 2 seasons and a 1-2 playoff record.

hopefully it is cooled enough for us to keep him for a couple of years at least.

We need to start a "keep Mike" campaign.
Although working with a QB of Rodgers talent has to be enticing, coaching "a guy like Aaron Rodgers" might not be so appealing.

Jerry likes his coaches to be his little poodle and Jason fits that bill. Could you imagine a coach with some back bone sticking around? I cant. I believe that is why Jason is still there. Jerry needs a pet to control.
I do believe that Defillipo will be gone after the year. He has turned this offense around and is calling really good games.

When the packers fire McCarthy or when he takes the Cleveland job, the Packers will not replace him instead Aaron will coach the team. It's all about him anyway.
Why would anybody want to deal with the bull shit that comes with rodgers? Great talent, but I wouldn't want my professional career tied to his whims.
Tampa Bay has lowered expectations now. You would likely get a longer honeymoon there. They will probably have a new GM as well. Everyone starting on the same page.
I wouldn't want to deal with Jerry unless you are as spineless as Garrett. Whoever Green Bay picks would have to be cleared through the boss. We all know who that is.
Cleveland is the black hole of the NFL. Don't get close enough to get sucked in.
Denver has great fans and high expectations plus Elway. That is a plus right??

And no, no plus in Elway. Unless those words surround the phrase "you have to deal with"

They have a bunch of young talent, gobs and gobs of Cap Space, and a GM that knows what he's doing and is picking the Coach this time instead of the Owner. It's Sports. No franchise stays good or bad forever.
Understand the positives. Just not sure they all outweigh the 1 negative. It is Cleveland.
Cleveland from a talent perspective would be enticing, plus Dorsey is a good GM...but ownership is horrendous...
Baltimore has a good owner, a potential QB, and a decent D...
Cowboys have some nice parts, but Jerruah seems to be losing it mentally, and his son wasn't all that sharp to begin with...meddlesome ownership which might tie you to a sub par QB...yuck...
Green Bay is going to be in cap hell once rogers signs his next deal...good draft capital coming up thanks to that ridiculous trade by the saints...
Tampa has some nice pieces, no state income tax, and needs a long term solution at QB...
Browns might be the closest to being competitive...if Lerner drops dead or ends up in prison...
I know----was listening to the last packer broadcast" these young wrs really develop fast for the packers." pause for next play----"What do you mean they develop fast?"---"Well Aaron demands it."
I'm like wtf---I guess the other qbs just say c'mon guys let's try to do our best ok!

imagine having that much assembled talent, that much cap space, and the premium draft picks... and the fans would cheer your name and you wouldnt have to ever buy a meal again if you simply got them to a 500 record. if you made the playoffs I am pretty sure its a ten year extension and they would errect statues in your name. a playoff win and streets and stadiums are named for you... a superbowl.... well i am not sure but I think the name of the city would be changing.
