My attention quickly turned to Brees and The Saints...
Minnesota pulled themselves up after getting knocked down and put themselves into a very good situation: the season really starts now this Sunday night. Saints and Lions at home the next 2 games, big. They need to win NFC games and ESPECIALLY NFCN games to get setup for where they want to be in early January.
They've got some injuries, but honestly, so does everyone else. Just need to rely on depth and pull out wins. Grind. Would love to get Reiff back ASAP, but don't know if that will happen. Hey, they are playing important games with meaning and that's a good place to be as far as being a fan goes. We'll find out how it all goes down!
Whats the over/under on Mpls Miracle catch replays? :p

On defense we could be without Hughes, X, Linval, Griff, Barr, and Sendejo. Those are basically all starters, even Hughes. The loss of Sendejo is not a huge deal. The rest are.
On offense we could be without Reiff, Compton, and Cook. And we will have O'Neill, a rookie, against Cam Jordan. And I think the Saints are the no. 1 run defense in the NFL. Plus it will be on national TV.
Doesn't look too good for the home team right now.

That's what will make it way more fun watching the Saints get their a$$es kicked. B)

Good run defense, but they've giving up more first downs via the pass than any team in the NFL. And only against Tampa's defense do QBs have a higher passer rating.
And it's not like they've played a bunch of great offenses. They've played the Bucs, Browns, Falcons, Giants, Redskins, and Ravens...this will be a good one. Probably a shoot out. Cousins should find plenty of room to throw the ball if they can keep Jordan in check.

Hopefully they give O'Neill plenty of help. Don't want any "welcome to the NFL" moments for him against Jordan. On D, hopefully Linval is healthy, and really don't want to face Brees without Barr or Rhodes. I could care less about Sendejo. I think Harris and Iloka are handling that spot quite well.
Get Barr, Linval, and X back and we will be fine. Their D is nothing special, especially against the pass which will allow us to light it up. We may not be able to run for 155, but we probably we be able to get AT19 and Diggs flying. It'll be more of a big nickel for our D, and asking our young DL to just pin their ears back and hit Brees.
38 Vikes - 27 Staints.

Love it . . . and hope you are right. Of course, getting Barr, Linval, and X back for next week is easier said than done. X looked bad. I doubt he will be back next week. Barr looked like he tweaked a hammy. Let's ask Cook and Fournette how long they take to heal. Linval came back against the Cards and missed only 2 plays after his injury. But with a week's rest he was unable to go against the Jets. So ...
saints are my 2nd most hated team now fuck them
Where does that pos get saying no bad blood---ever since that nfcc game in 2009 there has been bad blood to me.
eff em and brees right along with it

There's likely not one player on the roster from 09...that was a game that should have landed those fuckers coaches in jail and BANNED for life from the NFL....if seanny boy had a pissy attitude about the game winner last year he surely needs a kick in the ass!
payton should have received a lifetime ban
Will be real surprised if X plays. Hopefully Linval and Barr can go. On offense would love to see Reiff back. I am almost to the point of not even considering Cook will play. Gonna be a tough game but think the Vikes will prevail.
Guys don't worry. We got this. I am going to the game. I am undefeated at US Bank Stadium (8-0 with 9 consecutive wins @Titans 16') and 2 of those wins were against the Saints. ;)

The remarkable Drew Brees became the NFL's career leading passer earlier this month when he broke Peyton Manning's record. He is currently at 72,315 yards.Mike Zimmer spent the past two weeks preparing his defense to face a pair of rookie quarterbacks with a combined 11 NFL starts between them. This week, his attention shifts to an 18-year veteran and first-ballot Hall of Famer who has started 254 regular-season games.
“It’s different than it has been the last two weeks,” Zimmer admitted Monday. “This guy is amazing.”
Drew Brees appears ageless, too. Actually, he turns 40 in January but looks and plays like a guy stuck in his late 20s.
“I was watching tape, and I’m like, how old is this guy?” Zimmer said.
The Minneapolis Miracle will be replayed on a loop this week in anticipation of Sunday’s rematch between the Vikings and New Orleans Saints after their epic playoff game last January.
Overshadowed by the historic finish that day was the fact that Brees orchestrated a comeback for the ages that ultimately became a footnote when Stefon Diggs caught, turned and sprinted to delirium.
Had the miracle not materialized, Brees’ second-half brilliance would have been the focus. He completed 17 of 22 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns in wiping out a 17-point halftime deficit.
He picked up this season where he left off, offering no signs of deterioration or acceptance of the NFL truism that aging remains undefeated.
Brees leads the NFL in passer rating at 121.6 (which would be a career-best) and completion percentage at 77.3 percent (which also would be a career-high). He has thrown 13 touchdown passes and zero interceptions.
Again, he’s nearly 40.
“He should retire,” Zimmer noted, perhaps only half joking...
