Sucks losing Hughes but thats why we have depth.
3 games till our bye. We’ll also get said bye before Chicago so we should be well rested.
Maybe Cook can heal and be more then an after thought this year.
Maybe we get Griffen back sometime this year but Whetherly has looked good in his abcence.
Im feeling better about this year. Certainly better then after the bills debacal and the Rams being who we thought they were.
I assume injuries will happen, I just hate when it's impact players.
We've had typical Vikings luck this year. Griffen's... "issues", now Hughes, Sparano's death. We should feel lucky to be 3-2-1.
I wish I shared your optimism, but I've fully switched to "enjoy the season" mode. I watch the games, I cheer when we score, I laugh when we screw shit up, and go about my Sunday. Better to be pleasantly surprised if it happens.
Also: has Hughes ACL been confirmed? I have a friend with the Vikes, always texting. He said earlier today Hughes injury was bad but not end of the year. "give it a month" It's been 5 or 6 hours since we talked so maybe he was wrong, but I'm clinging to hope his early report was the right one.
I think the 6th seed is a perfectly fine place to
be right now. The NFC as a whole is
struggling outside of the Rams. We’ve
gone through the hard part of our schedule.
We’ll look a lot better if we clean up against some of the upcoming
teams that we should beat. We’ve
weathered some injury type challenges and it looks like our depth is starting
to respond.
Regarding Hughes, I’m pretty sure nothing will be known
until after his MRI today.
All said, I don’t think we’ll have a dominating team this
year. Especially if Hughes is out. I just don’t see our OLine solidifying to the
point we need it to be and I think Alexander will be a weak point against
better QBs, but we could be scrappy enough to get wins against the best teams.
