It will be interesting to see the strategy that teams use to "hide" their PS guys with this new single cut down period.
I think teams should be able to assign their PS intentions and if a team plucks that gut they should have to give up a late round pick in exchange. Some how reward these teams that do the scouting and early development work for what they've invested in the players to date.

Jeff Locke bit the dust in San Fran and Charles Johnson did the same with the Jets.

The practice squad players don't have to sign with someone else. Didn't we have a idiot RB do that a few years ago.

He was a rookie FA, I would say a 7th, if it's a drafted player then if it's a 4-7th round player give then a 6th, and if for some reason a 1 to 3rd round player a 5th. Or all drafted players a 6th. Either way it sucks for good teams to have to expose their home grown players. The league already makes it harder on better teams so this gives them a chance to keep the fruits of their scouting departments labor.
A ton more cuts coming today and the better players.

this is where it would suck to be an NFL GM.... so Rick.. how did you spend your holiday weekend..."telling 40 kids their lifes dream is over" ..... ouch.
& the bell tolls for TE Blake... as well as S Matthews.
Colby Gosset, Josh Andrews & Curtis Cothran cut... Beebe, All Vowels(Odenigbo), & Badet... down they go
Reportedly Coley and Zylstra are safe. Will make the roster.
