This is no $hit, I answer Tree as my gender on forms now where it will let me do "other".  I figure if the system wants to be so stupid lets overload the system.

Damn tech savy people screw with everything.
I been having my cell phone number Hijacked. I get calls from local area codes. Then they hang up. Then for a couple day I get calls from people telling me I called them. Said it's on their caller ID as my number. I have no record going out in my call log. Somebody told me it's a robo call scam thing or something. They try and scam somebody but the call traceable to my number or something. Has anybody else heard of this? It's pretty frigging annoying. It happened 3 times in 6 months. It usually goes on for only a few days then stops. Some of these people calling back have gotten angery at me because I'm telling them it wasn't me and won't accept my explanation. I was told changing my number might not stop it because it's random. I've had the same number for too many years to give it up.

yep,   when it happens i just add the number to my blocked list and hope that a future customer doesnt have that number.

yep,   when it happens i just add the number to my blocked list and hope that a future customer doesnt have that number.

Sounds like I'm getting off easy. I get several missed calls from unknown local area codes. I wonder about those. Usually never leave a message. I did have one message warning me it was my last chance to extend my cars warranty. I don't take well to warnings...lol.

im speaking specifically where someone calls me back saying they got a call from me. 



i actually got into it with one lady once.  My phone is a work phone,  if I miss a call I call it back..  well one day I got a call and missed it and the voice message was "uhm"  and some crackling and then click,  so I called it back and a lady answered and asked my name in a real snotty way, I asked who I was talking to because I was just returning a missed call on my phone, she freaked out on me and said it was her 6 year old sons phone and demanded to know immediatley who I was and why I was calling her little boy.  I again told her what happened but at that point there was no way I was giving that wing nut my name.  she started accusing me of being some sort of prevert and I simply asked her what kind of mother gives a cell phone to a 6 year old and leaves them unsupervised,  and then hung up.   I thought for sure I was going to be getting a visit from the DCI or other law agency.

Man that sucks. Like I said it's happened to me when I've answered an unknown local number and get a hang up. It's like they're seaching active numbers. Then it starts the people calling me back insisting I called them . Daily would drive me nuts. I had one older sounding lady with a Greek accent call me yelling at me for calling her. She said I called 3 times that day. I didn't know what to tell her. I tried saying it was a scam and their using my number. I don't think she understood. I felt bad for her. Not so much her because she didn't take no sh!t. But her demographics are usally the target.

There are a # of good apps that will block that s hit....Truecall is one and I have another on my phone I'd have to look-up - run em both 24/7.

My spam calls are down 98%

look it up and post it please.  I would be very interested in trying it.  is it one of those apps that just runs quietly in the back ground and does its job... or is it one that is constantly bothering you with adds or prompting you to download other shit?

I found something called true call in app store. Haven't tried it yet.
My problem is no where as bad as your guy's. Would be good to know what to have if it gets worse. Which they usually do.
