This place sounds amazing ...

Four grass practice fields (two heated), an 6,500-seat outdoor stadium where the Vikings can scrimmage and where local high schools are booking games, and an indoor facility with a ceiling high enough to avoid punts hitting it.
• A stand-up three-person Cryotherapy chamber, where players go for three-minute treatments to alleviate muscle pain and inflammation and improve blood flow. Some players, like tight end Kyle Rudolph, go twice a day.
A cafeteria that does not contain an ounce of junk. Last Wednesday, for lunch, you could have had a cup of pinto bean stew, and a plate of grilled Arctic char, bulgar lentil pilaf, grilled asparagus and a spinach/kale/beet salad.
• A outdoor sand pit for rehab and training for all leg injuries and leg fitness.
• A pool room. Here, there are three pools: a cold pool, a whirlpool, and a pool with a treadmill with a sort of elevator; the lower you’re dipped in the pool, the most energy you expend while running or walking on the treadmill. On the end are several more traditional single-person ice tubs.
• A draft room/personnel meeting room with rising auditorium seating that is so advanced that … well, I was shown the room off-the-record, so I can’t talk about the specifics. But it’s other-worldly. Very 2032.
One more thing: The locker room has fireplaces.
This is interesting....

I was sort of wondering, half fantasizing about the Vikings' new computerized draft room back in April, and if it might list their draft board based on their needs and analytics, but also be able to factor in real-time "intelligence" from around the league. Something that would give them a clear picture of who other teams covet, who those teams have already taken that might then eliminate certain players from their consideration, who they have to take now, who they can wait on, who they have to trade up for and where they can afford to trade down. I'm just speculating but I know this is what teams do and have done for years on paper and white boards, but I suspect the Vikings now have it all on the screen in front of them.
Yup, I think that's spot on MB...
I think "real time" and "analytics" is key...Based on who's come off the board, who's the next 3-5 teams to draft, being able to project out future picks etc.
All the tech is great, better have good people who are agile and smart enough to leverage it.

Yes, having that data quantified in some instantly usable fashion would be quite amazing.

This will no doubt pay dividends down the road...
Can I just say that absolutely everything on the menu looks awesome...except the buffalo chicken and that’s only because I can’t do spicy stuff ;)
When you are a northern team like Minnesota, an indoor stadium and world class facilities make a difference to players. They all like $$$$$ of course, but the day to day workplace environment is arguably the NFL's best in Minneapolis now.
What's also amazing is what this facility could be like in another 5-7 years. The plans for development of that land parcel include some pretty impressive stuff. Right-up the Wilf's alley.
I also read where their development company is bidding to build some hi-rises in Mpls. They are truly vested in the community.
Looking like the best thing to happen to the Vikings and MN sports since Max Winter won a franchise for the State. Compare that to The Pohlads and Twins who have the worst record in baseball since Target Field opened.
@"purplefaithful" said: Compare that to The Pohlads and Twins who have the worst record in baseball since Target Field opened.I hadn't heard that before, but it makes sense and is so incredibly frustrating. The state of MN and the taxpayers gave the Twins the stadium of their dreams, after promises that the Twins would run a first-class organization and money would no longer be an object nor a constant excuse hampering them from fielding a competitive team.
And the Pohlads have given nothing back but garbage in return, still clinging to their normal, cheapskate, profit-grabbing ways. Not to mention that they even offered to contract the team in the mid-2000s, so that they could basically pocket a $250 million payoff.
They are some of the worst owners in professional sports IMO.
That's why it is so refreshing to have great owners like the Wilfs in place now for the Vikings, after suffering for years under the 10-headed monster and penny-pinching McCombs.

Granted the Twins are a mess, but the NFL & MLB are completely different animalsA small market team can maybe play money ball and hope for a long shot every now & then, but the $ distribution is so stacked against them
When Hollywood does a David Vs Goliath movie on the state of baseball, there’s your sign.
