Jets reportedly "thrilled" by what they've seen from Bridgewater
Long way to go and Teddy still has to come through clean on the other side of the live bullets he'll see in the preseason, but so far so good as the Jets open training camp. Sure, Jets may be cranking the volume on his trade buzz, but if he gets back to the guy he was before the injury, the Jets won the lottery on a nickel bet.

Teddy will most likely be the starter there when the dust settles
Trying to gin up a trade market so they can unload him.
They have a couple of motives to talk him up. As mentioned, the trade value but also pressure to get Darnold into camp.

Darnold may not start game 1, especially if one of the vets is showing well.
i love Teddy and wish him the best. guy hit bad luck a few years back but has faught hard, deserves the best.
Teddy's basically in competition for McCown to be week 1 starter, because the Jets aren't going to want Darnold out there after coming in late to TC. If Teddy's knee is 100% and he is psychologically confident in it (2 big ifs), he should wipe the field with McCown.
I would think both McCown and Bridgewater are fighting for opening day starter. Then mentor and clipboard holder by years end. Either or both may be trade bait or cut. Josh has $5 million guaranteed, Teddy $500k. That's the difference between cutting one over the other. Teddys contract and age are more tradable. Both are UFA in 2019. Teddy if healthy should beat a journeyman like McCown. However the Jets have their QB of the future. Teddy's is likely the odd man out. Even if he wins he loses. I wish Teddy the best but this is not the best situation for him long term. I believe the Jets will turn it over to Darnold sometime in 2018 then keep Josh the journeyman as a backup through 2019 on a one year deal. That means cutting or trading Bridgewater. Why not talk him up then. Not that it ain't true, just doesn't change NY's immediate or long term plan.
Teddy gets traded to Miami. Fearless prediction. Gets a heroes welcome home.

I like Teddy, but what has he ever done to make you think he'd 'wipe the field with McCown'?? Seriously. McCown isn't garbage by any stretch.

Highly unlikely of a trade between the 2. Going to have to be an injury situation...@"kahsmick" said: Teddy gets traded to Miami. Fearless prediction. Gets a heroes welcome home. The only good news in this is he's making some decent enough $$$
They will be "thrilled" to get anything from the Bucs for him...
How long before Arizona is looking for a new starter?

While I do think that it benefits the Jets to pump up Teddy a bit (beyond the normal fluff of positivity every player gets), it's not like they're polishing a turd or something. Bridgewater looked great during Vikings practices as well. The real question is how he looks on the field with bodies flying everywhere, and how sturdy his knee is.
I think people are overstating the desire the Jets have in trading him. The Jets main goal is to obtain a longterm starting level QB. McCown is not that guy. Bridgewater could be that guy. Darnold could be that guy. Darnold could just as easily be a Bortles as he could be a Wentz. I just think they'll let the training camp playout, fluff all their QBs, and let the best man win. I don't think they're going to force Darnold into a starting role prematurely just because they spent a high draft pick on him, and I don't think they'll trade away their best alternative option unless he's really shining.
Week 4 the tampa bay groper goes off the rails again opening up a trade partner for the Jets
