What a terrible thing. No greater waste then losing a season in practice. Why I think they should shorten the preseason as well. Regular season is a punishment on the body. These practice/conditioning drill injuries are the worst. When you least expect it...

4 pre-season games...Ugh

OTOH, practices have been cut so short. Coaches have so much less time with players now. 

Not sure what the answer is anymore.

I think the soft offseasons are causing more injuries than they are preventing.  Yes a body can wear down,  but it can also lose tolerance.  These guys work out like animals,  but that's not football activity which is more demanding than any workout could be.
