100% agreed. The media lost their minds over Jimmy G. last year and the fans are absolutely obnoxious right now in NoCal. Every year there's major hyperbole and there will be ankle breaking early in the season as the media jumps of the San Fran bandwagon. They've got some big holes.

They play the Vikings, Lions, Chargers, Chiefs, Packers, the Rams twice and the Seahawks on the road which is never easy. The Broncos and Cardinals games won't be easy either for them.

p.s. Probably another thing that could be added to the overrated list:

Definitely agree with Houston and the 49ers. The QBs for both teams have yet to really prove anything. Sure, they both looked good in a limited sample, but I find it bizarre that people seem to be more skeptical of a QB with three straight 4K seasons than two QBs who looked good in a handful of games.

This from  the Panther entry was so spot-on it gave me flashbacks...

"They have turned their offense over to a coordinator in Norv Turner who is likely to nerf their most dynamic players....   ... But Newton provided much of that magic, and it's hard to tell what he or all-purpose weapon Christian McCaffrey will look like after Turner pound-pound-pounds them into the 1992 Cowboys-shaped holes on his pegboard."

I hope they kick the living s*** outta Frisco.  I'm still pissed after the 2015 Monday Night opening season loss against Colin Kneeldown and Carlos Hyde...who looked like frickin' Jim Brown that night. :(

Yep, one of most frustrating losses in recent memory. Making matters worse, it was the 2nd game of a Monday night double header. On the road. Monday night games are bad enough, but double headers are just lunacy. I blame Zimmer for that one. We were not prepared at all.

I liked and respected the Bill Walsh, Joe Montana 49ers. They won and did so with class...imo. They were replaced dynasty wise, by the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys then the ultimate of dynasties BB and Brady. Those two dynasties lacked the class of the 80's-early 90's 49ers. While I won't argue the success of the Patriots. It's their actions and personalities that leave me void of any respect. The 90's Cowturds are maybe my all time most hated. Yet they will alway be a media darling.
Media will always try to reignite the lore of the Bill Walsh days. That's not coming back.
