Vikings signed No. 30 overall pick CB Mike Hughes to a four-year contract. As is the case with all first-rounders, Hughes' deal includes a fifth-year team option for 2022. A college journeyman, Hughes averaged 31.9 yards per kickoff return and 16.6 yards on punts, all told scoring three return TDs. Hughes also intercepted five passes at corner and allowed an anemic 43.9 passer rating when targeted (PFF). A 73rd-percentile SPARQ athlete who specializes in press coverage, Hughes’ biggest drawback is his size (5'10). He should begin his Vikings career in the slot while contributing on punt returns.

That entered my mind, but that's not the way it works with us. For us it's the opposite. It's become clear to me that you jinx us by posting in jest that something terrible has happened. Then that thing happens. Case in point: 2017, week 2, Sticky posts (in jest) that Sam Bradford was out for the year. We all laugh, knowing that he probably wouldn't miss more than a game or two. Sam Bradford was out for the year.
